3 Year Blogiversary

Hello All,

How is possible that I have been writing "Hello all" for 3 years? Yup, that's right I have been blogging for 3 years! Every yearly milestones I'm in shock that I have one kept up with this for that many years but also surprised at how fast times time has gone.

Its weird to think of where I was when I wrote my first post I was a freshmen in college, shy and kind of reclusive. Now I'm a senior who can dimly see the light at the end of the tunnel (which ends in December), I've grown into myself and became very outgoing and love to meet as many people as possible. And now I have dreams that 19 year old Emma wouldn't have dreamed of having, sometimes I wonder if 19 year old Emma would even recognize 22 year old Emma.

For this year's milestone I want to share three things that I want to see happen with this blog.

1. I want to see get back to a somewhat regular schedule. Right now I know that having set days isn't something that's possible for me, even promising 1 post a week is pushing it, but one day I hope that I can get to a place where my schedule would allow at least one post a week.

2. Beautiful picture. I don't think that the pictures I post here are horrible but I want them to be even better. Its a skill and I'm working on developing better skills with photography. I think I need to invest in a better camera.

3. I want this blog to be around when I have kids. I'm no where near ready to have kids, heck I don't have anyone in my life to have kids with. But I would like to think that one day when I am ready I will be sharing their pictures and milestones and stories with my little corner of the internet.

And those are just three things that I want to see during my blogging career. I know that sometimes it may feel like I ignore the blog but if we're being honest I'm a very busy person who doesn't always have time to write, which is heartbreaking but true. I can promise no matter that I still love this blog and want to return as often as possible.

And since this is a lot of words and no pictures I've decide to add on some transformation photos now.

I feel like I look so different and so similar at the same time.

And now I want to thank every reader who clicks on this blog. I appreciate your continued support. And now here's more many more years to come!

Oh yeah and of course the top posts of The World According to Emma's history.

Then & Now & The Future - The World According to Emma Turns 1!

Hello All,

Today is a happy day, today my bloggy baby turns 1 years old! That is 12 whole months that I have logged on to blogger and written post for myself and all you lovely readers in bloggy world! This is also been one of the most stressful, hardest, most anxious ridden year and because of that I am beyond grateful I had this space on the internet to go to when I needed escape or I wanted to share the happy times!

But for right now I want to take a look at where I was 365 days ago when I first started this blog, a look at where I am right now and where I think I'm going in the future with this space on the internet. (P.S. - This whole post was inspired by a post that the lovely Rachel did on her blog once upon a time)

When this blog started it was know as, A Future Teacher's College Life, now it is better known as The World According to Emma!

When I first started my blog I thought I would mainly only write about becoming a teacher and teaching related stuff. I never thought I would be writing about almost anything that I write now.

When I first started my blog I never would have thought I'd have schedule, now I blog Monday through Friday with post that go live at 7 AM.

When I first started I had a weekly feature known as...
Now I have so many features that come out whenever I feel like it!

When I first started I never would have thought I'd have a bloggy friend (Shout out to Natalie)

When I first started I had self made, blogger generic blog designs
Now I have a blog designed by the awesome Rachel!

When I first started I had long hair
You can kind of see the long hair - June 2013
Now my hair is shorter, I want it to grow out again!
It goes to just below the shoulders now - March 2014
When I first started out I never knew how important social media was to blogging. (Please excuse the  shameless plug: facebooktwitter and Instagram)

When I first started I never thought I'd have any readers ever! Now I have 16 on GFC and 23 on Bloglovin. Thank you all so much for the love! I love each and everyone of you as well.

When I first started blogging I never would have thought of starting a youtube channel, now i'm trying to figure out how to make it grow

When I first started blogging I don't really think I had a writing voice but now I think I have stronger one and I love it!

When I first started I had just gotten voted in to be the Secretary of the future teacher's club on my campus but now I'm getting ready to Step Down.

When I first started I never imagined the roller coaster this year would be emotional but now I know that having a place where I can write, where some people will read it will make me feel better. Even if  what I'm writing about has nothing to do with what is bothering me.

The future is a big scary place but I think that this blog's future is bright! I'm not getting ready to change many things but I will be honest that there might be some changes and I wanted to give you guys some previews.

I would like to host a link-up of my own creation, I'm even working of coming up with a theme.

I would like to strengthen relationships with my bloggy friends and make some new ones.

Sponsorship might be coming out soon, no promises yet!

There will be a new blogging schedule for the summer!

My cruise recap, summer 2014 and Junior year!

Thank you all for falling me along with me during this first year of blogging. I can't wait to see what the next year brings and can't wait to share it with you guys!

Stay tune for this years, this months stats and my favorite post of the year!

You Could Have a Bloggy Baby - 9 Months Blogging

Hello All,

So, I am mad pre-writing this post, I mean it is January 11 and this won't go live until January 28th which is the day before my blogging 9 month but I have something super fun planned for tomorrow. So, why am I writing it so early? Well because I so much as happened this month all ready and normally this 2-3 paragraphs of this post are hard to write, I don't want to be too repeative each month, my feeling about blogging hasn't changed much. But today, 18 days before my blogging monthly anniversary I'm feeling inspired so I will write the opening paragraph and then add the boring stats in later.

So, to begin with I am happy to say that like I said my goal was during my 8 Months of blogging post I said that I wanted to be able to say that I told Mama J about the blogging and I have! She liked my blog's Facebook Page and may or may not being reading this!

Also this month I wrote a post that made me feel like a ligament blogger. I wrote a post about How to Start a Blog. Its cThanks razy to think that just nine, maybe 8 when I really got into the swing of things, I was constantly googling articles about this topic and now here I am writing a post about it! Crazy right!??!?!

And finally I want to tell you the story behind the title. Before I moved back to school one of my best friend's back home, Tori was hanging out with me and I was showing her the blog and the progress I had made on my blog. When I told her at the end of the month it would mark 9 months of blogging and she looked at me and told me I was having a blog baby. LOL. Get it because of the most part women are pregnant for 9 months.

So, let's take a look back at my 9th month of blogging.

This and That

Hello All,

This post is called this and that for the reason that I have a lot I want to share but only want to do one post. When I was planning my post for the week I had one idea in mind but as the week went on more things came to mind.

First off, many of my normal readers may have noticed that the name of my blog has changed. I did that for a couple reasons. 1 being that I didn't really like the original name. 2 I think the new name describes the blog better then old considering I write mainly about things that don't have to do with the fact that I'm a future teacher. I'm going to keep my URL because I don't know how a new one would affect how people follow me.

The next two things are more exciting!

For the next month Mama J and I will have a houseguest, of the K9 variety.

Meet Kizzy, she's a two year old dog who belongs to Mama J's best friend. Her and her family are going to be doing a lot of traveling in July so they asked us if Kizzy could stay with us and we agreed. She is such a sweet dog. Although she's a rescue dog so a lot of things scare her. She's bonded pretty well me though so we've spend a lot time cuddling and hanging out. I love how much she's bonded with me because our dog who we had to put down a few months ago always loved my mom then me.

The final thing I wanted to share is that today marks the day of blog for two months, like last month I wanted to share a few stats because I'm proud of how far my blog has come!

Month Two:
Followers (Both Google reader and bloglovin) - 11 followers
Post: 40 posts!
Page Views: 523
Bucketlist accomplishments: 0

I want to thank all my readers for following me on this journey we call life. I really and grateful for you guys. I have a few post planned for the next few days and knowing I have readers inspire me.

Don't forget, Google Reader shuts down on Monday so follow me on Blog Lovin'. All you have to do is create an account and follow your favorite blogs. Its free and simple!

Em

Bucket List Explantation

Hello All,

Its time for another Bucket List explanation so here's the next five items on my bucket list.

European Cruise: I love cruising! I have been on 2 cruise in my life and I'm absolutely in love with them. Both the cruises I've been on were in the Caribbean and when I graduate college (yes, I'm planning that far down the road, especially when it comes to cruising) but that cruise probably won't be to Europe, too expensive post college. But one day, maybe my honeymoon I will go on a cruise to Europe for 2 reasons: 1. I love cruising (Did you catch on to that?) 2. I've always dreamed of going to Europe! I should probably add going to Europe to my bucket list but a cruise is the main way I'd like to go Europe.

Harry Potter London Tour: A few years ago I was research London because that's on my places to see in Europe Bucket List. While I was researching I found out they had a tour in London that brings you around to all the places that are mention through out the Harry Potter Series. I would love to do that tour because I am a Potterhead, I'm in process of re-reading Harry Potter and Sorcerer's Stone. I think it would amazing to go and see all the places mention, espically because I've never been to London so when they mention certain places the only image I have are from the movies and her description in the book.

Live in an Apartment with friend (preferably my merps): Every since I was little I had a picture of my life, go to high school, go to college, marry someone, and have kids. But as time goes on I realize more and more that what I want is to take someone time between college and marriage to have a real life because the little kid fantasy isn't realistic. My roommate and I have discussed living together after college in an apartment but she says she only wants to do that if she's single. I want to live in apartment with friends, take time to have fun and live with friends and then settle down. I know that life doesn't go as planned and this item is more up to fate (an idea that I believe in) but its still on my bucket list.

Vacation or Live in All 50 States: Ever since I was little I have vacation in 2 places; Disney World and New Hampshire and I am incredibly grateful that growing up I was able to go on vacations and I LOVED the places that I went but I still will love to see other parts of the country so now on my Bucket List is to see all 50 states! I've been to a few of them, including the state that I grew up. I believe the total of the states I've been to comes to about 14 but I'll probably go back to them anyways because mainly I was visiting family and not really getting to see the museums or land marks, etc...

Get My Blog to 500 Posts: This item is pretty simple. I started this blog as a place to share my stories and in a little over a month i has turned into a place to share my stories, my opinions and simply just write. So, now I want to get my blog to 500 posts. Because once something is on the internet its always there so one day when I'm much much older I can look back at blog and remember who I was when I was 19, 20, 21 etc... And I really hope their will be readers who want to follow me along on the ride of life.

I can't wait to see which item on Bucket List I get cross off first and I will share with every time I get to.

XOXO,
Em

Ridin' Solo

Hello All,

I reached a teenage milestone (I still have 8 months until I'm 20 so I'm still a teenager right?) today! Today I drove ALL by myself! No one else was in the car with me, and I drove to 3 different places and I didn't crash into anything! That's an accomplishment if I do say so myself.

I figured since my blog only a little while I ago I should share my learning to drive story with you guys. In the state that I live in I could get my learner's permit at 16, my licence 3 months later but me being the merp that I am didn't get my permit until the summer before my senior year (I failed the written test twice, don't judge). I went to driver's ed and did the class part in 15 classes which came out to be about 7 weeks. But I was horrible about the actually driving part. At first I was scared you know all the horror stories you learn about in driver's ed, I was scared that would happened to me. It didn't help that Mama J was scared to drive with me, Father lives in a different state and I have no older siblings.

Finally in January Mama J came up with the ideas that I should ask 2 family friends who had taught their children to drive if they'd be willing to help and they were. I went out with Mrs. P (my best friend, Amelia's mom)  a couple of time and Mrs. R a bunch a of times (Thanks for that!). Finally Mama Judy was comfortable driving with me. I would got home, every weekend in February and the first couple of March to drive. And I drove around like crazy, I spent hours and hours on the road.

Finally it was the day to test, not only was it my test day but it was also my 19th birthday! And how did my test go? I panicked and failed! I was uber upset at the time but I come the realization that I did deserve to fail  and the instructor was just doing his job. But some birthday right? I honestly believe 19 has been my worse birthday so far. I tested again about 3 weeks later and passed with flying colors but I didn't get to drive again until May when I returned home.

Mama J decide that she didn't want me driving again until I had a little more practice...fair enough, it is her car.

So, finally today I got to drive all my lonesome! I had an appointment I had to go to and Mama J needed to work so I got to drive. I listen to music, obeyed the speed limit (always a good thing), didn't hit anything (another good thing) and drove myself. After my appointment I drove to McDonald's to grab Mama J some lunch and I ran into a girl I took Driver's Ed with small world right? I also did another quick errand that the grocery store to grab some nail polish remover and new nail polish. Then headed home.

I was really impressed with my driving abilities. And can't wait to drive alone again for farther distance...and maybe to somewhere more fun then an appointment, maybe to movie or out to dinner with friends (something fun to blog about).

This weekend will be a pretty busy one, I'm going to student leadership program for the future teacher's club i'm part of (its an over night retreat, and I'll tell you all about it early next week.

I'm also going to send a quick shout to my roommate who is doing relay for life this weekend, she's the team captain. I wish I could be there for her but unfortunately the dates didn't work out.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

XOXO,
Em.
