My 2016 Goals {Introduction}

Hello All,

I can't believe that's in 2016 already! For the last two years (20142015) I have come up with a list of goals to try to accomplish in the the new year. I focus on goals rather then resolution because I'm not looking to change myself I am looking to make a my year a memorable year. Every year I share my goals in the beginning of January and then check-in at the end of March, June, September and December so I can see how I am doing on those goals.

1. Go to the gym 2 times a week
Source
Most years I make a goal to start eating better and going to the gym. But this year I'm going to focus on going to the gym. I feel like 2 times a week is a manageable number of days to go to the gym every week. Plus I can work it into my schedule and maybe even work up to going more then twice a week. In the past I have enjoyed going to the gym but was bad at keeping up with it.

2. Either cross or start planning to cross 3 items off my Bucket List
Like a said above I want to make my years memorable and I want to live a life where I collect memories instead of things. So, this year I want to try and complete 3 items off the list. And if I can't complete them I want to at least start planning the items, like planning a trip. I think that this goal is should be pretty accomplishable. Actually looking over the list again I can tell that 3 items is very much accomplishable.

3. Finish 1 Blanket for my 180 Blanket for 180 Days
Every year the number of blanket I want to make goes down but this year I am determined to finish at least one blanket. I really want to do something good in the world with my talents and I have the talent to make blankets so why not make blankets for sick kids.

4. Read 6 Books That Aren't for School
Source
I love to read books and I read almost every night before I got to sleep when I'm home. In 2015 I got so close to finish 6 books but came up one book short. This year I want to try and finish the 6 books. In fact its less then a week into the year and I already finished my first book (keep an eye out for the book review).

5. Start Recording My Budget
Source
I found a format on Excel that helps you keep track of how you're spending your money. This year I really want to do a better job of keeping track of how much I'm spending and where. Because in the next year I would love to work towards buying a new car and start planning my first European adventure.

6. Get My Room At Home in Check
Source
At this time next year I will most likely be moving back to my mom's house, pretty much for good. Because of that I want my room at home to seem just right so I can enjoy it when I'm living at home again.

7. Go on 5 Blog Worthy Adventures
Source
I love sharing all the adventures I have on this blog. And this year is bound to packed with some awesome adventures. I can't wait to share all of them with you guys!

8. Work my butt off at school
Source
I only have two semesters left in college and I want to make them count. I want to get the best grades that I possibly can and I want to make sure that I'm proud with how I leave school. I learned a lot this last semester about putting school first and I plan to bring that into this coming semester.

9. Come up with fun content for the bloggy and my YouTube Channel

I feel like sometimes I let my blog and especially my YouTube channel seem like my lowest priority. And although I have some priorities that come before these outlets they are both still really important to me and I want to come up with some really cool content.

I think this year I'm going to end my goals with a solid 9. I think that all of these goals are manageable and trackable. I am so excited about 2016 and I have such a good feeling about this year.

2015 Goals and Resolutions Introduction

Hello All,

Last year I created a list of goals and resolutions that I want to try and complete during the 12 months of 2014. And for the first time I was able to work and feel good about how I did with my goals at the end of the year. Probably because I made myself check in with the goals every 3 months. But whatever the reason I decided I wanted to do it again this year.

1. Start Exercising and Eating Healthier
Source
I'm taking this goal off of last year's list. Reason being is one that I want to be healthier. I have a good immune system and rarely get sick but I want to make sure that I'm healthier all around and taking care of myself to the best of my ability. But also this year I went through the most moments (days sometimes week) of feeling like crap about how I looked and felt. This year I want to make that I feel good, if not great about myself rather then bad.

2. Either cross or start to plan 3 things off my bucket list

I had a lot of fun this past year working on crossing things off my bucket list. Last year I was able to cross 2 things of my goals of 3 things. I still feel like 3 things is a good goal so I'm keeping the same number to see what I can cross off this year.

3. Finish 2 blankets for my 180 Blankets for 180 Days Project

Last year my goals was to complete 2 blankets but I realized that was too lofty of goals considering how much I do in life. But I still want to try and complete a couple this year and I don't think 2 is too insane of number to try and complete.

4. Read 6 Book That Aren't for School
Source
I love to read. Last year I was able to read 5 books, my goal for this year is to read one more book then last year. Plus the sequel to my favorite book that I read in 2014 has a sequel schedule to be realized in early June so I'm excited to read it.

5. Blog at least twice a week
Source
Last year I was blogging about 5 days a week and I loved it. But eventually life got in the way and I had a lot of writer's block. This year my goal is to try and make sure that every week for the next 52 weeks has at least 2 posts going up per week.

6. Create and Live By a Budget
Source
College can be a difficult time with finances. I want to start habits now that can help me in the future when I'm on my own and eventually one day when I have a family. Plus I just don't want to be broke.

7. Stop Procrastinating
Source
Last year I found a way to organize that I like. Now I just need to keep up the organization and stop the procrastination. I put things off, to the point that I put off doing things that I want to do. This year I want to stop procrastinating and doing things early on.

8. Become a Neater Person
Source
I have found away to organize my school work and my list so that everything gets done. This year I want to make both my dorm room and my bedroom at home neat. I want to be one of those people that make their beds everyday and everything has place.

9. Go on 4 totally awesome, blog worthy adventures
Source
I love doing things. Going places and having new experiences. This year I want to go on 4 blog worthy adventures whether its a road trip, day trip or hike somewhere. I just want to experience new things and see what happens.

10. Work on my novel more
Source
That's right ladies and gentlemen I'm working on a novel. Back in my junior year of high school I started to write in. During the summer before my freshmen year of college I finished the first draft. From page one to the cliff hanging ending because I want to write a series. Recently I went and printed all the pages to that I could edit and revised it. I'm not sure what I want to do with it, if I ever want to try and get it published or just get it to the point where I'm sure that its the best possible copy of the book I'll ever write. Either way I want to work on it and see what happens.

And those are my 10 goals/resolutions for 2015. I feel like they are reachable and I'm excited to see where this year brings me.

2014 New Years Goal Final Wrap Up!

Hello All,

Happy last day of 2014! Can you believe this year is over? I can't! I am so happy about how this year went, more on that tomorrow. What I'm really surprised at is that tomorrow we will be just as close to 2030 as we are to the year 2000. I wonder if I'll still be blogging in 15 years...

Anyways, with it being the last day of 2014 its time to check out how I did on my 2014 goals.

Key:
Didn't Even Attempt
In Progress/Somewhat done
Completed!

1. Start Exercising and Eating Healthier
Although this year I feel like I moved more and took the stairs more, I really don't fee like I worked hard enough on this goal to say that I really put any effort into this goal. Oh, well there's always 2015!

2. Either Cross Something or Start Planning to Cross Something Off My Bucket List
This year I was successfully able to cross 2 things off my Bucket List! I became a a published author and saw Wicked on Broadway. I am close to cross one more thing off my bucket list by having 97 more post published to hit 500 post here on the old blog!

3. Deal With the Aftermath of My Big Life Decision
I am completely comfortable with my change of major. I feel like it was the right decision and that I will be happy with my future. Although I still have no idea what I am going to do as a future career I'm ready to figure it out!

4. Finish 4 Blankets for my 180 blanket for 180 Day Project.
I'm working on one although I don't have a lot time to do them. Oh well we'll see next year, right!

5. Read 7 Books That Aren't for School
I have read 5 complete books (If I Stay & Where She WentTo All the Boys I've Loved BeforeThe Maze Runner and The Fault in Our Stars). I've started like 3 books that I'm currently reading. I know that I won't finish one for tomorrow so those will be all the books of the year.

6. Become More Organized
I found a way to organize that I like, I just need to stick to it and then I will like its complete.

And that's a wrap! I'm feeling proud of how I did on my goals. You can check the other check-in here (March)here (June)here (September)and here (December).

I hope you all have a fabulous New Years Eve and I'll see in you in 2015!

New Year's Resolution Check-in {June 2014 Edition}

Hello All,

Can you believe that it is June already? I know that I can't! That also means that it is time for another New Year's Resolution Check-in time!

If you want to know why I chose these resolutions you can read about them here and if you want to see the first check-in from March you can here

Not Even Attempted
In Progress
Completed

1. Start Exercising and Eating Healthier
The last semester has been crazy and I haven't had much time to eat healthier or work out. And I take full responsibility for not finding a place to put it into my schedule. But I had this to my summer goals list and I also plan to start doing research on tips and tricks on living up to this goal. I just need to remember that its a lifestyle change, which can be scary at time.

2. Either Cross off or start planning (trips) 3 things off my bucket list
Back in March I had crossed, getting something published, and then later that month I crossed seeing Wicked off my list. As of right now I don't have a 3rd one planned but we'll see right!

3. Start Dealing with aftermath of my big decision
A few weeks ago I announced what the big decision was. Which was that I decided to change my major. Everyone important knows this fact and I'm still happy with my decision. I'm still questioning what excatly I'll be doing with my life. But I have a lot of support in my corner which makes me happy.

4. Finish and donate 5 blankets to donate
I haven't had much time to work on it during the school year but hopefully I can't get a few done this summer.

5. Read 7 books that aren't for school
When I checked in, in March I said I was reading The Maze Runner. But actually put that one aside for a little while, so that I could read The Fault in Our Stars which I finish, be on the look at for a review in the next couple of days or weeks. Now I'm back to reading The Maze Runner and I am reading it fast!

6. Become More Organized
This goal may be a broken record but I want more then anything to be more organized. I have officially found a blogging organization that I love and I'm starting this week to organize my home room.

And that is how I'm doing with my resolution goals this year. How are you doing? Let me know in the comments below.

New Years Resolution Check-In {March Edition}

Hello All,

Can you believe that it is already March 2014! I can't believe it! Since its the beginning of March its time to check-in with how my 2014 Resolutions are going!

Key:
Anything in bold hasn't even been attempt
Anything that is italicize is in progress
Anything completed cross out has been completed

1. Start Eating Healthier and Exercising More
I'm sad to report that the only small piece of progress I made was joining the gym at school but I haven't even gotten there. I don't want to play victim or not take responsibility but I've had so many snow days on the days that I have time to go to the gym so I haven't gotten there yet! Ooops!

2. Either cross off or start planning (i.e. trips) 3 items off my bucket list
Yup, I have crossed one item off my bucket list, you can read all about it here. I also very confident in saying another one will be crossed off later this month. And there are some things that may be in the works that might being rounding out the 3!

3. Start dealing with after math of decision that I made recently
I know some of my loyal readers are going to be wondering what this big decision is but you will know (hopefully) before the next check-in. But instead of having more answer I actually have more questions but I still think that I am moving on the right track.

4. Finish 5 blankets to donate
I had 2-3 nights in the beginning of the year that I could work on blankets but since the semester got into full swing I haven't had as much time. Hopefully I can finish one over spring break!

5. Read 7 new books that aren't for school
I have been slowly making my way through Maze Runner but I still feel like I don't have a lot of time. Hopefully I'll get sometime during spring break.

6. Become More Organized
This is a major work in progress for me. But with the exception of my Bucket List this is the goal that I have made the most progress with. This has always been an area that I have struggled with but have always wanted to be someone who can say that they are extremely organized. But I'm working on it and for that I am proud.

It crazy that I am doing my first check in for my New Years Resolutions this year and I am beyond proud of how I'm doing. A lot of these are hard goals to hit but I am working hard to do them. My blog has helped me with this because I feel like I now have someone to be accountable to. But I also have  decide to make 2014 the year that I focus on myself so that has helped a lot too!

If you did New Years Resolution how have your resolutions going? Let me know in the comments below.

180 Blankets to 180 Days!

Hello All,

Some of you may have seen my Bucket List Recap List from October or you may have read my my New Years Resolution Introduction earlier this month. In both of these post I talked about how I want to be able to donate 150 blankets to children's hospitals during my life.

But over the place few weeks I have been thinking a lot about this goal. And no I'm not deciding to give up on it. No, instead I've decided to make it bigger. Over the last nine or so month I have read different blogs and watched different vlogs where people decide to use their outlet as a way to make a difference.

I learned to crochet when I was in 6th grade and trust me when I began I was horrible at! Like the worst crocheter in the world! But I have gotten better. As I was practicing I thought about starting an online shop where I could sell blankets, scarves and mittens but then I realized that I wasn't fast enough, maybe one day but not today. I always figured that on my site I would offer an option to donate a blanket to children's hospital.

Then I started my bucket list and realized that I could do it anyways. So I chose a random big number, 150, and added it to my bucket list.

But then I got to thinking, there as to be some way to make this project into something that I could talk about it. I wanted to name it but I couldn't think of anything clever that would go with 150  So, I started thinking about what number I could make that I could create a project for. And I decided on 180!

Why because where I went to school, at least elementary school, we had to go 180 days. But when a child is sick they can't go to school. If they are really sick they can miss a whole year, 180 days, of school if not more. So, I decided that I wanted to make 180 blankets for a 180 kids or may be missing up to or more then 180 days of school.

My goal is to take about 1 hour a week to crochet. I know that it will take me a LONG time to complete this goal but I hope that one day I can complete it.

What is one of your biggest goals? Let me know in the comments below!
