Big Brother Week 10

Hello All,

Finally the house guest remembered that they were playing Big Brother and made some big moves! This week has by far been my favorite week this season!
Competitions;
This week's HOH was a HUGE competition because not only was it an HOH competition but it also was a a competition to see which juror would routine to the HOH competition. In this competition they had to balance on a plank that would move up and down and change angles. While balancing on the wall they would have to catch baseballs that were being thrown at them. The first juror to catch 10 balls or the last one standing if they other 3 fell off would return to the game. The last one to remain standing of jurors was Judd! The juror also elligable to become HOH so the first player to catch 10 balls would become the HOH and Elissa won this week's HOH. I knew that, Elissa winning and Judd coming over would mean an interesting week.
Source: Helen falling off during the HOH Competition
This week's POV was played by Aaryn, McCrae, Elissa, Amanda, Judd and Gina Marie. In this competition they had to roll the ball up a triangle ramp and then run to the other side and catch and repeat. Every time the ball goes over the point of the triangle they would get a point. The first player to get 250 points would be the winner of this POV, hosted by Zingbot! In the end Amanda pulled out her first win of the season and won the POV.

Nominations:
Like every week before Amanda tried to control the nominations but unlike the past HOH Elissa was strong headed and did what she want. Elissa made it clear that her target was Aaryn but wanted her second choice up as well so Elissa nominated....

After Amanda winning POV and taking McCrae off the blog Elissa had to choice a replacement nominee. Everyone tried to convince Elissa to put up Gina Marie but Elissa didn't like that idea. But the idea that Elissa wouldn't put up her ally made Amanda mad. Although Amanda and Andy tried to get her to nominate Gina Marie, Elissa followed her blame to shake Amanda and McCrae's world and nominated...

Alliances:
The alliance this week that I am most excited about is the only that is forming between Judd and Elissa. After being in jury Judd learned some things about what had been happening in the house and Elissa is alone in the house. I think that if they continue to work well together they maybe able to make it to the final two!

Showmances:
Drama:
During the drawings for the POV competition Aaryn drew out the chip that said house guest choice. She chose Judd because 1. she knew Elissa plan to backdoor Amanda and 2. she knew Spence wouldn't use the veto and Andy would use it on McCrae. But unfortunately for Aaryn Amanda did not like that choice and didn't hide it well at all.
Later that night Gina Marie and Elissa were talking in the kitchen and stop whenever Amanda would walk. Soon Amanda calls them out on it and gets into screaming match with Gina Marie.
Amanda had a hard time this week with not being able to control Elissa and she ended up going off on Elissa telling her how she wasted her HOH and then spent days torturing Elissa and telling her she going home. As Amanda continue tourting Elissa her once allies start to feel uncomfortable and start to real just how much control she has in the house.Which even caused a new alliance to form between GinaMarie, Judd, Andy and Spencer called the exterminators.
Evictions:
This week Aaryn campgained hard to stay in the house while Andy formed an alliance leaving the house guest with the choice of who evicted. Like almost every other eviction the house voted together and they voted for...
Source
Although I don't agree with many of the things that Aaryn has said in the house I was sad to see her go. I truly believe that Aaryn deserves to be in the house more then Andy does because from about week 3 or 4 she has played a phenomenal game going from being to the most hated to escaping nomination and eviction multiple times.
My Player of the Week:
This week's Player of the Week was a no brainer for me. This person was always thinking ahead went with their gut instead of letting other people control them. They attempted to make a big move and even though that move failed they still were able to make a big move. So, for the second week in a row my player of the week is...
Source
Elissa!

What did you guy think of this week's game? Who do you want to see go home next? What did you think of Aaryn's eviction? Who is your player of the week? Let me know in the comments below!

Hello All,

It's Wednesday! And time for the first What I Love Wednesday of the Semester! Also its my first day of classes!

I was inspired for this week's What I Love Wednesday last night while my roomie, Hannah and I were take part in one of our roomie bonding activities, watching the Nanny. What can I say we know how to party! LOL. So, this week's Topic for What I Love Wednesday is...The Nanny.

I Love the Nanny!

I Love the Theme Song!

I Love Fran's voice

I Love Fran's and Niles' relationship!

Source
I love that you wanted Fran and Mr. Sheffield together but it wasn't as in your face as it is in some more modern shows.

Source
I love how much the Sheffield kids grew up during the series.

I love Gracie, she's my favorite character.

Source
I love that Cece is someone you can love to dislike.

Source
I love that the actress who played Cece was pregnant one season and they just ignored and didn't try and hide it.

Source
I love how obnoxious Fran's mom was

And we can't forget Yetta! Who doesn't love Yetta?

For those reason I love The Nanny! What are you loving this Wednesday? Let me know in the comment below!

The Social Network

Hello All,

I'm sitting in my dorm alone without my roommate who doesn't move in until tomorrow (Although it will probably be today because I think I'm going to schedule this post). Outside my room I hear freshmen making friends and enjoying themselves but I'm sitting on my bed watching The Social Network.

Source
If you haven't seen this movie its about the creation of Facebook.

While I'm watching this movie it got me thinking just what a big influence social media plays in my life. I pretty much have every social media there is in the books. I run a blog, I have a personal Facebook page, Facebook Page for the BlogTwitterInstagram and Vine, although I don't ever use it.

I can't imagine my life without these sites. I can't imagine not being able to go on a website and look at pictures that friends posted online or read tweets from my favorite celebrity.

But why are we so addicted? We collect social media like our grandparents collected stamps. What is it about social media that makes us want to sign up almost immediately after we hear about it? I don't know the answer to that question.

When I was a junior in high school a lot of people were talking about how Facebook would no longer be popular after about 18 months. But now its about 4 years later and Facebook is still popular. My prediction is that for the generation that I live in, Facebook won't fade. We might not update statuses as much but will post pictures and Facebook creep our old friends. Or we'll turn into our parents who make statuses about everything our child does because we want the world to know.

There is something about Facebook that keeps us intrigue. I know that there are days, almost every other week where someone will do something on Facebook that drives me crazy or annoys me and I say that I will delete my Facebook. But deep down I know that I won't.

When I'm bored or on break at work my go to activity it to check my Instagram feed or my twitter feed. I also do it every morning as if my Instagram and Twitter are the morning paper and I might have missed something important last night.

Some people believe that our need for social media stops us from really living life but I disagree. Yes, I do tweet when some funny things happen but the majority of the time I'm too busy having fun with friends to think to tweet about it.

I don't think we should live our live behind a computer screen or cell phone screen but I still think that we should still embrace that we have the access to social media. I think that we should be amazed by the fact that we can keep  in touch with someone on the other side of the country on our own schedule instead having to hope that they can talk on the phone at the same time. I personally believe that social media is a blessing and not a curse.

What do you think about social media? Do you think its a blessing or curse? Do you think sites such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram have an expiration date? Let me know in the comments below.

Big Brother Recap: Week 9

Hello All,

I just want to start out by saying that I'm sorry this post isn't that great and might be a little boring. I didn't do a good job paying attention this week to Big Brother because my mind was else where with moving back into school.

Competitions:
For this week's HOH the house guests once again went head to head. Each pair would listen to song that would give a hints towards a competition. The house guest would hit one buzzer that either was the HOH, POV or Have and Have Not to say which competition they thought the clues went with. The last person to buzz in would be eliminated. The first person to buzz in would stay in for another round and choice the next to go up. In the Aaryn, scored her fourth HOH.
Source
For their Have/Have Not competition they were split into teams of 4. They were sent into the back yard where their was a big black box. They had to go into the box where it was pitch dark. The team had to search the box and find a big key. Since they couldn't see what they were touching and would be hit in the face with feather and such. In the end Gina Marie, Elissa, Amanda and Helen were this weeks have nots.
Source
This weeks POV was played by everyone except McCrae and Amanda. POV was Otev, my favorite one to watch. For those of you who don't watch Big Brother Otev is a speaking creature (changes depending on the season) who reads the house guest clues about evicted House guests. Then the house guests have to run through mud, water and other gross things in order to find an object with house guest name on them. The last person to return the object to Otev loses. This week Elissa won her first POV.
Source
Nominations:
Aaryn was approached by both sides of the house with who she should nominate but Aaryn stuck to her 3AM alliance and nominated...
Source
Elissa
Source
Helen.
After Elissa won HOH Aaryn had to nominate a replacement. For a few minutes Aaryn did debate back dooring Amanda but instead stuck to the status quo and nominated
Source
Spencer
Alliances:
The 3AM stayed strong and Helen unsuccessful tried to form an alliance between Aaryn, Gina Marie and Elissa.
Showmances:
McCrae and Amanda are the same.
Drama:
The day before the POV ceremony Big Brother gave the house guest alcohol and the topic of Wine Gate. Amanda and Aaryn ended up arguing about the series of events. Although the next day they were back to being friends.
Eviction:
Helen campaigned hard to get the votes to stay. And she almost did by convincing Gina Marie and Andy. But has almost every other week this season the house voted together (with the exception of Elissa) to evicted...
Source
Helen
My Player of the Week:
This week's player of the week kicked butt during the POV Competition and was strong enough to vote against the crowd. This week's player of the week goes too...
Source

I'm sorry if this week's Big Brother Recap seems a little boring. This season has to be one of the worse seasons of Big Brother but I promise I will finish the Big Brother Series.

If your a Big Brother Fan who do you want to see go home next week? Who do you want to win? Who is your player of the week? Let me know in the comments below.

Is Fate Real or Myth?

Hello All,

I'm going a little bit philosophical on you guys today but its mainly because I was inspired while writing Yesterday's Post. During that posted I mention that I believe that we are all put on this world for a reason. And I figured that I would discuss my believes when it comes to fate. Before I start I do want to mention that I understand and fully believe that everyone has the right to their own opinions but these are just mine.

Fate is an idea I've always had and has begun to real fester in me while I deal with a decision I am trying to come to as I mention in this post. I am a baptisted and confirmed catholic but I'm not 100% sure that I agree with everything that is said in the teaching but I do know that I believe that their is bigger force out there then just humans. Whether it be God or some cosmic force.

Because fate is an idea that I have been thinking about developing my own ideas about since I was young I have come up with a list that I would like to share with you.

MY THOUGHTS ON FATE:

1. Everything Happens for A Reason
Source
This belief is one of my mantras in life, when I don't get something I really want, like a job or an oppurnity I remember that its because something better is going to happen. But this idea is even more important for me because for the last 2 years I have watched someone so important to me go through Hell and Back. Every time I hear that something else has happened I remind myself of that and remember this might be her impact on the world.
2. Everyone Has A Soul Mate
Source
This another topic that I have strong beliefs on and I do want to share it with you guys soon. But I'm going to give you brief over view here and say that I believe that everyone has one person who understands them better then anyone else in world possibly could. It doesn't have to be the person they end up with in the end. It could be their best friend, their sibling, their cousin.
3. We All Are Put On This Planet for a Reason
I believe that each and everyone of us will make an impact on the world but we'll never really know what it is. Some of us will teach a student and make an impact that will keep them moving forward. Some of us will in some way safe someone's life. And some of us, the blogger especially, might just write a post that will let someone else, miles away know that they are not alone in this big bad scary world.
4. We Are Born The Way We Are
Source
I believe that we have certian events that influences that will define who we become but there are certain things we are born with. I believe that traits like being stubborn or sweet are ones that we are born with but traits like being cynical or determined maybe something that grows with in us.
5. We All Have Obstacles That We Must Hit, But How We Get There Is Up To Us
Source
I believe that things like who we married, how many kids we have, where we live what we do for a living are pre determined but how we get there is up to us. I don't think this is an accuse to go hog wild but I do believe that there are some things we don't have control over.

Those are my beliefs on fate. What are your beliefs on fate? Let me know in the comments below.

Leadership Retreat Day One

Hello All,

Over the past few days I have been celebrating being a student leader through my college's summer leadership retreat. I will be blunt some of the workshops I went were boring but over all I really enjoyed myself.

But my favorite part was the feeling I got every time one of the people running the retreat referred to as student leaders. I still love the feeling I get when I think I'm a student leader or when I told a parent of freshmen I was helping move in today that I was helping today because I am a student leader for one of the clubs on campus.

The school I go to has a great way of making me feel like I'm exactly where I'm suppose to be and that somehow, some way that I will end up being the person I was made to be, which interestingly enough was one of themes of keynote's speaker speech.

Our Keynote speaker was Joshua Fredenburg.

Source
He was interesting, I hate to say but no matter how interesting a speaker may be I have a hard time focusing after like 45 minutes to an hour. But I did enjoy him.

One of my favorite things is that he encouraged us to tweet things that he said that we found interesting because we never knew who else that could inspire. And I did just that. 3 things that Fredenburg said that stuck with, still are stuck with me today 3 days later and probably will stick with for a while to come.

I love this idea, I love that when I child is born you have no clue what their future might be, whether they will find the cure for cancer or teach the president of the United States. We never know what our impact will be in the world.
I'm a huge believer in the idea that everything happens for a reason. So, naturally I believe that we were put on this planet for a reason. If your not doing what you were put on this planet to do you won't be happy until you find it.
\
The final one is about how your friends define so much of who you are. When people see your friends doing stupid stuff they are going to assume that you do stupid things. Or if you hang out with people who aren't motivated then your not going to be motivated.

Those are the big things I learned at the leadership retreat. The rest of the day were filled with workshops. I went to one about how creative advertising for events, how to stay stress free and how to host a successful events. All which I learn some new stuff but a lot of it I already knew.

Well that was pretty much day one. I'll day you about day two in a couple of days.
