Thanksgiving Break 2015

Hello All,

I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving this year and that your holiday season is off to a great start. The next few weeks in my world are going to be crazy! But I also have a lot of blog post ideas so I hopefully I crank some of those out over the next few weeks. With that being said let's talk about Thanksgiving Break.

Tuesday:
My Thanksgiving break started Tuesday afternoon after class. As soon as that class ended I pretty much ran to my car. At this time I had only spent one night off campus all semester and that one day was back in September, meaning that it had been about 60 days since I had spent a night off campus and had been home. So, you could say I was a little excited. When I got home I spent a little while with Mama J before retreating to my bed (where I spent most of break). For dinner Mama J and I went to my favorite restaurant at home.  When we got home I jumped in the shower and I'm pretty sure I was out like a light but 10:30/11 and I'm not even a little sorry.

Wednesday:
On Wednesday I woke up at about 9:15 but didn't get out of bed until like 11:30. Once I got out of bed I ran to the grocery store to get some food and came home. I had some homework that was due at 4 PM so I did that assignment and sent it in. Once I finished with my responsibilities I decided to do some baking and I made a cake (I didn't take a picture though because it wasn't that pretty). While things were baking I worked on one of my writing projects and just chilled out.

Thursday (Thanksgiving):
Originally my plan was to wake up at 8:45 so I would be upstairs for the beginning of the parade. But that didn't happen. I woke up about an hour later and went up stairs. I watched bits and pieces of the parade while I curled my hair and did my make-up. Mama J and I made our way down to my Uncle's house for Thanksgiving itself. For our Thanksgiving it was a smaller group this year then it normally is but it was actually a lot of fun. My younger cousin pointed out to me later in the night that we had been sitting at the dinning room table for about 4 hours! It was crazy. When Mama J and I got home I was again retreated to my bedroom and worked on one of my writing projects again. All and all it was a great Thanksgiving.

Friday:
I slept in for quiet while. When I woke up Mama J and I got ready to leave the house because we were going Black Friday shopping! We left the house around noon and our first stop was getting lunch at Friendly's and although we would both probably return in the future our experience this time was not good! After lunch we headed over to Bath and Body Works where I picked up my winter scents as well as some Christmas presents. This was probably the craziest store we went to. It was so jammed packed but we got so much stuff from there. Our next stop was Kohls where I hit the mother load! I was so impressed with all the deals I got. Before applying coupons I had already saved $100! Plus a lot of the stuff I got were really cute! My last stop of the day was Ulta where I treated myself to some cute make-up as well as some base products. Mama J had to work that night so I went home and vegged. At around 8 PM I decided to get up and make cinnamon rolls. They were delicious.

Saturday:
I slept in super later because it was rainy and gross. After I woke up I spent the better part of the day in bed because why not. Later that night Mama J decided she wanted to join team iphone. We went to Verizon where she was helped my an awesome worker. Although there was a slight mess up with the sims cards that got our phones sort of messed up. But they were able to fix it. When I got home I windowed shopped on Etsy for hours. And then crashed.

Sunday:
I slept until about 11:15 and as soon as I woke up I knew I would regret sleeping that late because I have to go to bed early because I work super early on Monday mornings. Once I got up I got ready to film because I was filming my Black Friday Haul (which you can watch by clicking here). Once I finished I packed up my car and headed back to school for the last 19 days before winter break!

And that was my Thanksgiving break. How did you guys spend your Thanksgiving? Let me know in the comments below.

DCL Recap 2014: Castaway Cay {8}

Hello All,

To be completely honest with all you wonderful people this is the recap post that I was most excited to share with you because it has some of my favorite pictures of the trip!

Our last day was the day at Disney's private island, Castaway Cay (pronounced like key). I knew that I would spend a lot of time getting in The Maze Runner and enjoying a day of relaxation. We slept somewhat late on Friday and then I went up to breakfast with my aunt, uncle and cousin.

We got off the boat and started walking towards the family beach so that we could find out spots. My aunt stop to take a picture and it hit me that I couldn't remember if I had grabbed my camera in the morning.

Pretty much summed up my feelings

Once we found out spot, I look through my bag and noticed it really wasn't there and decided to run back to the boat and grab my camera. It only took about twenty minutes. When I got back to our spot on the beach I went down and stood in the ocean for a few minutes.

For lunch my uncle and I went to the adult only beach, an area that Disney put aside for people over 18 and got some lunch. I had some chicken, cous-cous and something else. The food was good and it was so quiet and pretty in the adult only area.

We went back to the beach and went into the ocean some more and read for a while. At about 3 PM we went over to one of the bars on the island where they had some great deal where if you bought one drink you got one free. I don't know how often they do that but they did during my cruise. Of course though, being only twenty I only had some water.

And they we did some shopping, I bought a frozen shirt and post cards. We rode the tram back to the ship, relaxed and packed for awhile. And I cam out of that port of call with a nasty sunburn, although the tan is still somewhat there to this day, so I guess that's cool.

And now enjoy some of my favorite pictures!

An anchor on the walk to the beach!
The welcome sign!
The boat from the beach!
Another angle, because I guess I'm artsy
Rockin' my Yale shirt
The ocean playground
A far away few of the bar we went to
My own version of the Getting Ready to Sail logo

I hope you all have a great day!

The Fashion Gods Made Me To It.

Hello All,

This was not the post I planned on doing today but when I went to write it last night I was to tired and decided to do something else.

You see yesterday I went to Old Navy to take advantage of the 2 flip flops for $5. When I first turend the corner to the flip flops I saw a Anchor print dress and decided to try it on. And it fit! And the price was only $10 so I thought why not.

I gathered up my flip flops and headed to check out. When I got up to the front they told me if I spent $5 more dollars I would get 10% off my next purchase. I saw a pair of cute anchor socks and decided to buy those. But they were on sale for less then $5! So, I ended up also getting some hair ties that were natical themed.

While I was checking out I was talking to the cashier and told her how I heard that they had anchor shorts and wanted to know if it was true. She said that it was but they might not have as many but would check in the back. She came back holding the shorts and told me they were the last pair. I decided to try them on and they fit and knew then that I would have to buy them because the fashion Gods were sending me a message.

A crappy cell phone picture of the haul. Sorry for the crappy lighting
I knew almost instantly that I wanted to wear the dress the next day. I even shaved my legs for it but woke up to rain and decided not to wear. Boo :( But hopefully tomorrow will allow me to wear it because maybe it'll be sunny and warm.

So, that is the story of the day the fasion gods spoke to me! Have you ever had an experience like that? Let me know in the comments below!

The End of Big Brother!

Hello All,

I'm sorry that I have been so bad about doing Big Brother recaps the last few weeks. Between school starting and Blogtember my Big Brother Recaps have gone to the way side. But I have this post and another post planned for the end of the Big Brother season and hopefully next season I will be better about it.

Okay since I have about 2 weeks to blog about I'm going to a brief paragraph about each of the next 3 evictions and the winner.

When we last left off Elissa had been evicted because of the double eviction. The next HOH was won by Andy who put up McCrae and Spencer. When McCrae won POV it was clear that Andy would have to put up another exterminator and he chose Judd. And sadly (in my opinion) McCrae and Gina Marie decide to evict Judd.

Source
The next week Spencer pulled out his second win of the season and for the first time could really feel safe in the Big Brother house. Spencer put Andy and McCrae. After Gina Marie won the POV, she was the soul vote to evicted and after taking a note from a Big Brother great Mike Boogie she told McCrae to get to stepin making the exterminator the final 3!

Source
The first final HOH competition of the final three was an endurance competition where they had to hold on to their HOH key while the were pulled around on roller skates. The winner of this competition was Gina Marie.

Source
The second round was an endurance and memory competition where Spencer and Andy had to put the HOHs in order and take them up the wall. The winner of this round was Andy!

Source
The final round was played by GM and Andy where they had to predict which answer the jury members would give to each questions. It was a nail bitter but in the end Andy was the final HOH winner!

Source
Andy then had to decide who he wanted to bring to the final two and kept his word from night two (who does that in Big Brother?). And decide to bring GM to the final two making Spencer the last member of jury.

Source
The jury got to ask the final two questions and unfortunately Gina Marie couldn't hold his own. But in the end 7-2 Andy became the winner of BB15! And the first openly gay player to win Big Brother!

Source
Although in my opinion the final three didn't completely deserve to be there but I do believe that because of the way the cookie crumbled the first, second and third place was correctly placed. I am also proud of the jury for not holding a grudge.

Tomorrow I will post my wrap up for the season and then Big Brother will go to be until next season when I return to do recaps of Big Brother 16!

Online Shopping Haul

Hello All,

After starting my blog, I became super interested in other blog and vlogs on youtube. I even created a channel on youtube so that I can add vlogs to blogs every once in awhile. You can subscribe to my page if you want but I'll pretty much just put the videos in blog post, when I eventually do get around to make some. I have some ideas for when I go back to school so that's when I'll be adding them in.

Anyhoodle (I love that word, I think its funny), one of my favorite types of videos I like to watch are the shopping haul ones and I figured I'd do a blog post version of the online shopping haul that I did last week.

The first thing that I did was some shopping on Amazon for CDs. I know what you're thinking, who still use CDs, well this girl does.

Let me explain. Recently Mama J bought a new car and I got her hand-me-down mini van, I'm going to do a quick post about in a few days because I'm excited! Her mini van is almost probably about 10 years old, so it only has a CD player, plus I don't have an iphone (I'm galaxy girl) and I don't like how many commercials are on the radio so I figured I'd buy some CDs!
I bought two CDs and since they were off Amazon I got some good prices on them and I'm so excited. The first CD that I got (for only about $4) was the Hunter Hayes CD (if you don't know why you can learn here and here).  I also go the Taylor Swift CD for about $11, I like some of the songs on her new CD and I like her old stuff so I thought why not, I can always skip the few (*cough* We Are Never Ever Ever Getting Back Together*cough, cough***).

The other little bit of online shopping that I did was on the Disney Store Website. I love Disney and for my birthday someone gave me a gift card. A few days ago I got an emails about a discount and i figured why not use my gift card. I got two really cute shirts for less then $25! I was so excited.

Can be found here

I love this shirt because I love how Disney makes you feel like kid! I'm sorry the lighting is really bad for this picture, this shirt is a little more reddish then the shirt looks, I don't know why its so washed out.

Can be found here
I love this shirt too, I love how Minnie's box is the "M" in Minnie. When I went to take the picture I laid the shirt on carpet forgetting about the dog hair from Kizzy and now it has dog hair all over it, oh well I'll just take a lint roller to it.

So, those are my newest purchases. What have you bought recently that you're excited about? Let me know in the comments below.
