Trying Something New on a Snow Day!

Hello All,

Before I start today's post I want to share a transformation Tuesday picture because I cut my hair and if you read this post you may know that I am over attached to my hair and I swear to God I am going through separation aniexty from my hair! Okay maybe that's a little dramatic. But here it is!

Now on to today's post! As I have mentioned a couple time, we are having tons of snow here right now, they are predicting a blizzard to come on Thursday! But on our last snow day (last Wednesday) Hannah and I were prepared and trying making new foods! The first thing we tried out was cupcakes using this special cups Hannah got for Christmas!

Also on that note this is not a review in any way but anything I say is my opinion and was not given anything to write this post! Now we may continue.

We decided to make funeti (yum!) cupcakes with funeti hot pink frosting (double yum!).

Like I said we were making them in special cups and this is what they look like.

Since we are college students and this was somewhat spur of the moment we mixed our ingredient in the pasta pot! #CollegeLife

I just thought this looked artsy

The final step was to fill the cup up with batter and put them on a cookie sheet and popped them in the oven.

One thing that we learned was that it took the cupcake a while longer to bake in the oven then it said on the box but finally they were done!

We let them cool slightly and then it was time to frost the cupcakes and put on the sprinkles.

They came out deliciously!

The second thing we tried that night was to make homemade pizza! Hannah and Mandi had cheese one and I put chicken on it!

The ingredients
Hannah rolled out the dough.

There was a little piece that looked like a heart

While Hannah did that, I cut up my chicken.

Then it was time to put the pizza together!

We baked it as long as the roll told us to bake it and it came out perfectly.

Then we ate our pizza and watched Teen Wolf! How have you been spending your snow days? Let me know in the comments below.

Merps in the Snow!

Hello All,

Monday morning my alarm went off at 8 AM and I looked at my phone like I do every morning. I noticed that I had a missed call from bloggy and real life friend Natalie, which was confusing until I read her text message asking if she could hang out in my dorm until her ride could get to campus. Why? Because we were having a snow day!

Source
Natalie had already found a place to hang so I turned off my phone and fell back asleep for another 3 hours! Gotta love snow days!

When I woke up I worked on a project and worked on some bloggy business. But eventually Hannah and I started getting restless and decided we wanted to go out and play in the snow with Mandi. And of course I have some photos to share.

GETTING READY TO SET SAIL: Introduction and Past Trips {Week 1}

Hello All,

Last week I announced that I was invited by my aunts and uncle to join them on Disney Cruise! I am so excited and it will be an awesome way to celebrate the end of Spring Semester. Since my aunts (yes the "s" is there on purpose its my dad's sisters) and uncle invited me they've done most of the planning so I can't share the planning stuff with you guys.

That bothered me because I love sharing planning stuff with you guys. And then I began to think, I love doing research (what can I say, I'm a nerd to the nth degree) and I've been on Disney Cruises before so I have some background knowledge, although I've never been on the Fantasy.

I started a list of all the things I would want to know about cruising and I decided each week I would do some research and tell you what I think about it and what I've learned in a feature I like to call...

This week's topic is going to be my past trips, I'm going to show a couple of pictures from my last trip in April 2011. I have a lot and some will be used in future post and some are just so horrible that I don't want to put them on this here blog. LOL.

First spotting of the trip
Mama J and I at lunch one day!
Some ship detailing!
Pluto and me :)
Chip, myself and dale!
And those are all the pictures for right now! Have you ever been on Disney or any other type of cruise? What do you want to know about one? Let me know in the comments below.

FAITH!

Hello All,

Faith is a topic that written about a lot out here the blogsphere. Our blog is a place where we can share our opinions and find comfort in knowing that maybe someone out there will feel the same. I don't talk about it a lot mainly because I don't know what I really know what I believe.

But today I want to share a story with you guys. Some aspects of the story I'm not going to share mainly because its not my story to share. That's a small disclaimer.

In high school I wasn't overly religious but I did believe in God. Many people would ask why I had such a stronger believe in him. You can't see him so how do you believe in him? I didn't have real prove except for the fact that every time I prayed for something it seemed to work out.

But after my senior year things started to change. Someone I love very much got sick. She was very sick and they thought they had fixed it but everything started to go wrong again. The fix was no longer a fix. I looked it as God had betrayed m and the person I loved.

Over the last year or so I pretty much changed my mind on how I felt about God. I became one of those people who use to ask me how I could have a belief that is so strong.

But the other day my texted me telling me to keep this person in my prayers. I felt so desperate in that moment I truly prayed for the first time in a long time.

I went to my classes and did my work and when I got out my called me telling me that they thought they had found another better fix. I heard this news and I almost started crying in the middle of my schools student center because for the first time in a long time a pray was answered.

Now a few days later I still don't know what I believe. I don't know if I believe in God or maybe it was just fate or maybe God and fate are the same thing. Because all though I'm still struggling with my beliefs I believe the more important thing is that the person I love is going to be okay.

COLLEGE TIP:Being Sick in College

Hello All,

So, all last week I was fighting a pretty nasty cold. You know the type, sore throat, runny nose, and not wanting to do anything or get out of bed. All of that sucks but it even more suckier when you're at school. So, today I want to give you some tips on how to handle being sick at school.

1. Do everything in your power to stay healthy.
Source
You are going to be healthier if you eat balanced meals, go to the gym and get the right amount of sleep. All of which is really hard to do. I know this because I definitely feel that struggle.

2. If you have a cough bring cough drops to school with you
Source
If you're having a coughing fit in the middle of class you're distracting to yourself and your classmates so try any have cough drops that can calm your cough and make you feel slightly better. And all your classmates will be grateful.

3. If you can go, then go
Source
If all you have is a cold and the problem can be solved with some tissues, cough drops, a cup starbucks tea and a nap between classes. Then go to your classes, you don't want to miss out on a day of classes if you don't have to, espically if you have a quiz, test or something huge due because in most cases professors don't care!

4. If you ARE really truly sick don't go!
Source
If you have something real like strep throat, the flu or basically anything with a fever stay home. Get better and prevent spreading the big stuff. In that case text/Facebook/Tweet at classmate and find out what you missed so you don't get too far behind.

5. Drink a lot of water
Source
I'm all for and have always have been the person who is all for bring bottles of water with me to class to stay hydrated but especially when you're sick because you can pee the virus out of you. That's always what Mama J tells me.

6. Sleep

Source
When you're sick your body needs rest and lots of it. So, even if you aren't someone who normally takes nap, think about taking 45 minutes and try sleeping in the afternoon. Go to bed somewhat early and sleep a little bit later in morning, it doesn't matter if you don't look your best when you're sick.

7. Don't be afraid to visit the health center
Source
You know your body. If it doesn't feel right or you aren't getting better after a few days go to the health center and talk to the doctors and nurses there in order to make sure its not worse then it.

And those are my tips for how to handle being sick in college. For any other college students out there what are your tips for being sick in college? Let me know in the comments below!
