We've ALL Been There

Hello All,

We've all add one of those days, nights, 8 hours shifts where everything seems to go wrong. You wanna hear? Yes, good I'm glad!

My day started out good, I had to run some errand and Mandi came with me, we had some good bestie bonding time. We got back to school in time for me to relax and watch some Teen Wolf (Hello, Dylan O'Brien).

And soon I drove my way to work and it was an enjoyable ride.

I got to the car garage where I parked car and found out that their was something going on in the theater next door to the garage. So, I started driving through the garage all the way up to the sixth out of seven floors. I was still early so I decided to run to Panera because yum!

I walked to Panera and they TOOK forever I don't know what was up but they we're just super slow. Finally I got my food and started heading towards work but I realized I left my hat part of my uniform in my car. I headed back to the garage but I saw that show next door was getting out and the line for the elevator was a mile long. so I turned around and headed to work figuring I'd buy a hat there.

But then I realized i was still wearing my slippers and that my work shoes were in my car so I had to go back. The line for the elevator was still a mile long so I decided to run up the six flights of stairs. Lets say I'm very out of shape and out of breath. #NotSexy

Finally I got to work and power ate my food only to find out that Panera forgot my bread! But I didn't have time to go back a complain because it was time to work. The first two hours we were there we had a line to the door. I work at restaurant and was making the fries and I went through 3 box of fries, all of which hold six bags with hold about 8 helpings. So, you can assume how many fries we had to make.

So, I was taking a sheet of bacon of the thing we make bacon on and pulled off a sheet and with hit came some of the grease. Without thinking I stuck my thumb right into a puddle of grease and burnt it.

Soon it was getting time to close and we started to pre-close we had most of the stations shut down when we got another huge rush of people and everything we had pre-closed was no longer closed. So, when we actually were closed we were starting from square two.

We finally got out of work at close to 2 AM. I drove home but couldn't fall asleep. I think I was awake until about 3 AM and I woke up this morning at 10:30. And trust me I'm still VERY sleepy.

What was your weekend like this week? Let me know in the comments below!

Meet a College Blogger...Lindsey

Hello All,

Welcome to another addition of Meet a College Blogger! I'm so excited for this blogger because she is super sweet, and her answer are perfect! I think all of you will like her as much as I do.

So, with out further ado, I introduce you to Lindsey from LMartThoughts!

1.  What inspired you to start blogging? Why did you chose to name your blog lmartthoughts?
I started blogging because I was angry over shorts being too expensive. My senior year, I took AP Environmental Science and my teacher suggested I do something about my thoughts, since I didn’t think it was fair to pay $50 or more for a pair of shorts. Don’t even get me started on jeans. Yes, I think they are ridiculously over priced. So, my last name is not “mart” (close but no cigar ya’ll). However, it’s close, so I went with that to protect myself a little bit more. The thoughts part came from the idea that it was putting all the “thoughts” down that were in my head out there for everyone to see.

2.  What is your favorite post you have ever written? And why?
It’s so hard to pick a favorite post! I love so many of them!
So, here’s some of my recent favorites I think you should definitely check out this onewhy: Proves I’m human. And this why: gives you tips and tricks on how to do make up!
And, probably all of my “college tip” posts. I love these because it’s more of why I started the blog.

3.What are you planning on doing after you graduate college?
Well, hopefully I can become a journalist or an event planner. I do plan on continuing blogging though, so even if the journalist thing doesn’t work out I’ve got this.

4.  On your blog you are doing 101 in 1001, where you are attempting to complete 101 goals in 1001 days. What inspired you to do 101 in 1001? What goal are most excited about? What goal do you think is going to be the hardest to complete?
I’m goal oriented. If I don’t have a goal, it won’t get done. Guaranteed! This way, I know what I’m working toward and a date to get it done by. I definitely have more done then are currently updated on the list (maybe I should make updating it a goal?) I’m most excited about my ADPi related ones because they help strengthen the bonds I have with sisters. My absolute favorite though would be get a dog! I love puppies and I want a little corgi. I have to wait until I’m out of college though. The hardest goal to accomplish will probably be going to England or the Atlantis resort. I don’t have a lot of time off and travel is expensive! I’m being realistic though and know it might not get done...but I can always put it on lists until I get it done! I hoping to study abroad in England this summer though and you know I will definitely be vlogging for ya’ll!

5.  You also run a YouTube channel to create Vlogs that go along with blog. What inspired you do start a vlog? Which did you start first?
I started watching YouTube when I was in high school. Now, I watch it constantly. If I don’t have a new video to watch while I get ready in the morning, I’m totally lost at what to do! I love follow me around vlogs and I want people to know that I’m normal just like them, and sometimes there just is some stuff you can’t put into words. I tried doing vlogs first (I had a channel called “thefillyproductions” and I actually started with making montages of me riding). However, I officially started blogging first with vlogs as just an add on to my regular posts.

6. On your blog you discuss your life as a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. What made you want to join the sorority? What is your favorite part of being a member?
I’ve always wanted to go greek but I didn’t really think about it for while when I first went to college.
I wanted to join a sorority because I go to school 3 hours away and knew I would need a support system. Sisters are always there for you no matter what!
Here are some posts that will show you my journey through going greek! here and here.

7.  You participate in Blogtember (I did too!). What was your favorite topic to write about and why?
I loved writing so many of them it is so hard to pick! However, if I had to pick my favorite(s) it would be these: Where I'm FromDefining Moment and Only Photos

8. What is the biggest piece of advice you would give a freshmen in college now?
Go out and explore! Do not just sit in your room and expect people to come to you. Go to recruitment events for greek life, go do things you’ve only dreamed of doing! This is the time in your life that is full of “get out of jail free” cards (don’t do illegal things though!). Take advantage of this. You never know what you might learn about yourself. I wish I hard started do this earlier because I’ve never had so much fun in my life.

9.Since this feature on my blog is all about college bloggers, who are some of your favorite college blogs to read?
One of the first blogs I started reading was Hannah at The Pink and Green Prep. Highly recommend!
Sparkle and Shine is another ADPi blogger that I love. And, The Shore Life According to M.
I love reading Paige at The Sticky Note Addict and Samantha’s Life is But a Stream of Thoughts

Thank you again to Lindsey for being November's college blogger! She really is super sweet and has a great blog so make sure you go and check her out (her link is above).

Homecoming 2013

Hello All,

At my school for homecoming each year they have a homecoming parade where each club or organization if they can can put together a float with dance routine to perform before the Homecoming game. Unfortunately my Future Teacher Club didn't do a float but my friend Mandi was in one with her Sorority.

I went to the float to see Mandi perform and she did awesome, her sorority came in second in the Greek Life part of the competition.

After the parade there was a tailgating party. Hannah and I walked around, listen to music and enjoyed some of the best cupcakes ever!

The flavor cupcakes that they had

Hannah's Pumpkin Cheesecake cupcake
My Cookie Dough cupcake!
Seriously why aren't more things made out cookie dough?
Soon it was time to go watch the game. I'm going to completely honest with you Hannah and I only watched the first half. Because our butts started to hurt from sitting on bleachers, it was cold and we don't really understand football so we were confused.

Before we left we met up with Mandi so we could get a Merp group picture!

My school name has been blocked out (LtoR: Mandi, me, and Hannah)
And that was homecoming! When we left our team was winning and I never heard anything to tell me they didn't win it all.

How did your team do at homecoming? Let me know in the comments below.

P.S.- Make sure you check it out my friend's Natalie's post about me on her blog. You can check it out here.

College Tips: THE BATHROOM

Hello All,

As a sophomore in college I think I'm learned a thing or two about college and because of that I like to write some post with "college tips". I haven't done them in a while so you can check out the past ones, Must Haves for College and Living With a Roommate by clicking on the links.

Today I'm going to talk to you about one of the scariest part of living in a college dorm. The part that is possibly the grossest part. It is the communal bathrooms!

Source
For anyone who ever lived in a dorm, you can't tell me that's not one of the first questions you asked when touring a campus was do you have clean bathrooms? I know I thought about it.

So, here are some of my tips for sharing a bathroom with 40 other girls!

1. Wipe any bodly functions of the seat when your done using it. I don't want to see your pee or anything else on the seat when I got to sit on it.
Source
If you're one of those people who don't like sitting on toilet seats that fine, just use the seat protector or make sure you wipe up whatever misses when you hover.

2. Don't leave feminine products on the floor if they are used. Ain't nobody want to touch that!

3. Don't leave any clothes, underwear, shampoo, used razor in the bathroom. Your floor mates, RAs and janitors ARE NOT your mother and should not have to clean up after you!

4. Same goes with the hair in the drains, on the walls or wherever else you can get your long hair.
Source
 5. Always wear something on your feet! Whether is socks when you go to pee or wear flip-flops/sandals when you shower. You don't want a fungus growing between your toes! That's just gross.

6. Flush the toilet! Its really not that hard!

7. I don't care if you want to listen to music, I love to listen music in shower. But if you go in and someone else's music is already playing, PLEASE don't try and over power their music. We can sing along to the same song!

May the Odds Be Ever In Your Favor

Hello All,

And no I'm not talking to y'all about the Hunger Games. In fact I've never read the books or seen the first movie completely through, please don't throw fruit at me and hate me.

Instead it 5:45 and registration day for sophomores here at my college. That means 1 of three things 1. its early 2. the semester is almost over and 3. all HELL is about to break lose with everyone trying to use the same website at the same time.

Ever since my class was freshmen (the movies had just come out) everyone has tweeted "May the odds ever me in your favor," right before registration begins. Because you can register in as quick as 30 seconds (me int he spring) and as long as 45 minutes (me in the fall) or even longer. Not gonna lie totes have butterflies waiting for six AM right now.

So, may the odds ever be in your favor if you are anything like me and getting ready to register!

Ahhhh! Its 6:01 and I'm done people!

I hope if you had register for classes it went quick and simple and that you have an awesome day!

P.S.- This lovely post is a one take wonder and I'm not editing it because I want to post it and get back to sleep. Please don't hate me :)

Home for the Weekend

Hello All,

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! I know that I did. Because for the first time since September I actually got to go home! I had to work until 11 PM on Friday but once my shift was over I hopped in my car and drove the hourish home and it was totally worth the wait.

I got home at around midnight and Mama J was up waiting for me. I sat on the couch and talked to her for a while but I was getting sleepy and want to finally get to sleep in my brand new bed. (Side Note: I recently got my first full size bed for home but didn't get to sleep in until this weekend). I slept like a log until about 10:45. I got up and ate some food, read some blogs (I'm so behind in my blog reading, I haven't even got to some of my favorite bloggers Halloween posts!) and waited for Mama J to get home from work.

Once she got home I got ready to go out because we were going shopping! Our first stop was Kohls because I wanted to buy gifts to donate to children in need for Christmas. The kids I was buying gifts for our was through my future teacher's club where each year we adopt two children and buy them gifts for Christmas. I bought each child a pair of Pajamas and Mama J donated socks to each child.

After Kohls we went to dinner at Bertucci, if you've been there you probably know how good their rolls are. Only reason I went.

Since we were at the mall we went to Macy's because I had been looking for leggins that go all the way down to my ankles so I could where them with an pair of boots. Then I left them in Mama J's car before I came back to school.

Our last stop of the night was Target because I had to buy stuff an event that my Future Teacher's club is putting on Friday (I might do a post about what it is and the games we played). I also bought myself a new wallet because my old one was getting a little ratty.

When I got home that i night I did laundry and relaxed at home. Sunday I slept in, finished up my laundry and got ready to go back to school. I had to leave for work about 3 PM, I was sad to leave home because the next time I'll be able to go home is Thanksgiving and then probably not again until Christmas.

What is your favorite part of going home? Let me know in the comments below.

Color Combat Fall 2013

Hello All,

As many of you know I'm secretary of a Future Teacher's Club on my campus. A few weeks ago we went to an event hosted by state's education association. At this event all the schools that our part of state's education association student program got together for a day of games and team bonding.

My school brought 9 members and we got to know each other a lot better!

Top Row (LtoR): Andrea, Gabby, Heather, Deanna (President), and Bridget
Bottom Row (LtoR): Tessa, Kinsey, Me and Megan
We played many different team bonding type games. Although are club didn't get many points we had a lot of fun and was able to go home with great knew friends.

Here are some of other pictures from our event!

The members of the student program.
The Students Program, volunteers and our state level officers.
Tessa and I
Each team received an award and my school got the best dressed award as the Yellow Stingers!

Deanna our president receiving the award.

Overall it was a super fun day and it was great to know our members a little bit better.

P.S. Happy Veterans Day! Thank you all who have served and are serving now!
