College Tips: Preparing for Mid-Term Time
Hello All,
Happy Friday! This is my last Friday of the semester, where of where has time gone? Today I want to give you some tips of mine for preparing for finals. But I'm not giving you study tips because I still don't have those down. LOL. Instead I'll give you topics for preparing for the time when you have to study.
1. Stock Up on your study snacks (my favorite is popcorn)

2. Eat at least one balanced meal a day instead of microwavable food or ramen.

3. Find a good study place whether its at your desk, in the library or your dorm's Common Room (my place).
| Source |
4. You may be drinking a lot of caffeine during this time but make sure you drink a lot of water to stay hydrated.
| Source |
5. Create list to figure out your priorities and what still needs to be done.

6. Even during high stress moments take some time to see your friends, even if its just for coffee or stress eating (just don't eat leg wax like in the picture below)

7. If your friends are doing through drama right now, pretend it doesn't exist, you don't need anymore stress then you already have.
8. Don't completely pack all your stuff to go home before finals start, use it for an excuse for break
9. Don't forget to take care of yourself.

10. Don't forget in like a week it will all be over.
As I mentioned early my finals start next week. Because of that I will be taking a slight blogging hiatus starting tomorrow (Although I don't normally have a post on Saturday) through Friday December 13! I will miss writing to you guys dearly but finals can be over whelming. But don't forget to stop by because each day I will have a motivational quote on the page to help get you through finals.
Do you have any tips for getting through finals? Let me know in the comments below.

What is a State Meeting?
Hello All,
As many of my reader's know I am the secretary of Future Teacher's Club on my campus. What you may not know is how AMAZING this club really is.
Our club is located at two levels, our school club level but also at the state level! Now you may be wondering what exactly that means (I know that's what I would be wondering). Basically what is means is that we are sub branch of our state's Education Association!
Still a little confused? I don't blame because I haven't told you some of the really cool parts yet. Each month all college's in my state (well six of them) who have education programs at our schools get together. We plan events for our members that have to do with bonding, we plan events where they can work with children and we are invited to attend professional conference where we get the opportunity to network with school district.
How do we do all this? One Friday night a month we drive to state's capital where we meet with all the other schools. We sit in board room and we have a meeting where we discuss events, current education topics and make decisions for the student program.

The meetings last about two hours and can be exhausting but I think there a lot of fun. I feel blessed that I get to be a part of this club and can't wait to see all the other things we come up with for the rest of the year.
What is the coolest activity you were apart of during your college years? Let me know in the comments below.

Blogging Goals
Hello All,
Happy Wednesday! I'm so excited that this week is almost over and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel for this semester. Thank God!
Lately I have been thinking a lot about what blogging means to me. And trust me it means a whole heck of a lot. I like to think that this blog with see me through a lot. I like to think that this blog will see me meeting my husband, planning out wedding, announcing our pregnancy and at least the early years of our children's childhood.
Blogging has become part of my identity. When people asking for an interesting fact about me I say, "I'm a blogger" loud and proud. My friends listen to me talk about it and my roommate even gives me ideas for post or will make sure that certain are going to be on the blog.
I follow a lot of blog and watch vlogs on YouTube. I have discovered that there are things that other bloggers/vloggers do that I would love to one day be able to do. So, today I'm going to share with you some of my blog.
1. Make bloggy friends. One who I talk to a lot, ones that I count when I list my friends in general.
2. Meet my bloggy friends in person.
3. Have someone who reads my blog come up to me because they saw me in public place. Seriously if you ever see me anywhere stop me and say Hey!
4. One day to go back and chose a random month and year and read a post and remember exactly where I was in my life at the point because of what I was writing about.
5. To one day host a giveaway.
6. To one day host a link-up
7. To do a vlog a vacation for you guys.
8. To do a Q&A video with questions from readers
9. Inspire someone to start a blog because they see how much I love doing it.
10. To never get to the point where I stop loving blog and only doing it because for some reason I feel like i have to.
Those are just some of my goals for blogging. I don't want to make my blog about readers or page views because I've come to the conclusion that readers on blogs are a lot like friends. Its better to have a few loyal readers then a lot for status.
Do you any blogging goals? Let me know in the comments below.

Thanksgiving Break!
Hello All,
I was a terrible blogger over Thanksgiving break and totally forgot take pictures during the majority of weekend. Please still love me.
My school releases us from classes on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, I got out of class at 1:40 but I had to work Tuesday night so I didn't leave until I went to work. I got home super late, talked to Mama J for a while and went to bed somewhat early.
Wednesday I woke up around 10, watched some of my daily YouTube videos and texted my friend Tori to find out when she was planning on coming over. She said it wasn't until later in the afternoon so I decided that I wanted to bake something. I Googled Thanksgiving cupcakes and found Acorn cupcakes. I decided to make them and you can read about them here.
Mama J and I went out to dinner at my favorite hometown family run restaurant, which is must every time I come home.
Finally one of my best friends in the world came over. We spent the night catching up, crocheting and arm knitting. And watched the beginning of The First Time because well Dylan O'Brien and its one Tori and mine's favorite movies. :) It was so good to see her and hopefully I'll get to see her soon when I go home in two week.
Thanksgiving I woke up just in time for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and made Mama J and I Cinnamon buns. About half way through the parade I had to get ready to head out for the day. I meant to take a Outfit of the day picture because I love it but I forgot to sorry.
Mama J and I went to my Uncle's house, who was hosting Thanksgiving. We ate our food and I brought my cupcakes and my family members seemed to like them.
Friday, I didn't go Black Friday shopping because I had to work from 11:30-5:30 and I work near school so its an hour drive both ways. After I got out for work I met Mama J at the movie theater because we wanted to go to the movies. We bought are tickets and then went to dinner because there was still two hours did the showing. The restaurant was super busy because the Town was having there Tree Lighting ceremony.
After dinner we headed back to the movie and saw Delivery Man!
I enjoyed the movie and a lot. I have a full movie review planned for after finals.
Saturday and Sunday I hung around the house and worked at night.
My Thanksgiving breaks was nice and relaxing and I'm ready for bang out the last two weeks of the semester! Where did the time go?
How was your Thanksgiving/Thanksgiving Break? Let me know in the comments below.

Thanksgiving Acorn Cupcakes
Hello All,
Today I'm going to share a cupcake design that I made spur of the moment and ended up being a Thanksgiving dessert! I got isnpiration from a blog that I found through Pinterest. I didn't follow her decorations but I stole her idea. You can check out her recipe here.
Here are the ingredients that I used.
![]() |
| Mini Nilla wafers, Pillsbury Yellow cake, creamy supreme frosting, cupcake wrappers, Betty Crocker Frosting Gel, food dye, Hershey kisses , eggs |
I made the cake the way you would normally make a box cake. And made 2 dozen cupcakes.
Next I made the acorn for the top. I made them by squirting a small drop of gel frosting on nilla wafer and stuck a Hershey kiss on top.
![]() |
| The Gel I Used |
I took me about 30ish minutes to stick all 24 acorns together.
![]() |
| All the acorns |
![]() |
| Sample of one acorn. |
In the original recipe had little tiny Hershey kisses on top of the acorn that made the stem. I didn't do that but wished I had because I thought it would be more obvious what they were.
I always changed but the recipe was by dying the frosting green so it would look like grass but I think it was a little to to bright. You'll have to let me know what you guys think.
Then I frosted the cupcakes and plopped the acorn right on the cupcakes. I did it so that they were laying down so it looked like they fell right off the tree.

And those are my acorn cupcakes! Do you guys like to see recipe that I make on the blog? Let me know, if you do I'll do a few more over winter break.
