Blogtember: Favorite Apps - Day 28

Hello All,

I can't believe its the last day of Blogtember. And its October, where did time go? Today's post is pretty simple and its what are my favorite apps are on my phone. I have Galaxy S3 so we normally behind the iphone so if our play store has it I would guess the app store will too.

Calendar
Source
My life is pretty much on my phone calendar. Like if there is an event and its not on my calendar, I probably won't be there.
Camera
source
My phone camera is my primary camera at the monet although I'm saving for a new one.  But even then I feel confident that my phone is good for everyday pictures because when I bought it Verizon told me that my phone is as good as high end camera so I'm good with it.
GMAIL
Source
I have two gmail accounts, One where all my personal stuff gets sent and then one for the club that I am an officier of. I have no clue what I would do without my Gmail app because I use it for just about everything.
Twitter
Source
I love to tweet. I tweet whatever's on my mind. Want to follow me on Twitter? You can by hitting here and then hit the follow button.
Pinterest
Source
When I have nothing else to do I like to pin so I love that this app exist so I can pin on the go.
Instagram
Source
I love instagram! If I take a picture that I think deserves to be posted I love having somewhere to post it. I even do a feature here on my plog where I post my top liked pictures of the month.
Photo Grid
Source
When I take a lot of pictures I like to put them all in one instead of flooding my instagram feed. I actually use it a lot and love that I ca do it.
Go SMS pro
Source
I have Galaxy S3 and I LOVE my phone but then only thing I didn't like was that I didn't get the iphone emojis. Then Mandi told me about this app where you can use iphone emojis on the droid so I downloaded app and that's the only way I text now.
Countdown Widget
Source
When I excited I love to know how long it is until I get to go somewhere. I learned recently that I can change the background so they all are different looking.
My Calendar
Source
I love this app so much because its tracks my period and keeps record of how long it is and when the next one starts. In my mind it has to be one of the best apps ever created.
Drive
Drive
Google drive is where I keep track of all my ideas for my blog so I like that I can have an app for so when I get an idea I can open that app and added no matter where I am.
Candy Crush Saga
Source
I finally understand the addiction and love playing it. When I get stuck on a level I get really determined to get it right.

Those are my favorite apps on my phone. What are your favorite apps? Let me know in the comments below.

Blogtember - Letter to the Past Me - Day 26

Hello All,

Today's Blogtember topic is one that I believe I came up with on my own which to write a letter to yourself in the past. I was inspired by the song by Brad Paisley, Letter to Me.

Dear Younger Me,

I'm 19 years old know and I don't think much more than you probably know now but there are some things that I wish I knew when I was younger.

1. When we were in high school you always wanted more friends and to be popular. But I want you to know that you might not popular now but when you come to college you become more outgoing and now we have friends in all different places. And always remember that some friends are only suppose to make an appearance in your life.

2. Always follow your gut because 9 out of 10 times it has been right.

3. Always be who you are because there are tons of people out there who will accept you for who you are and not who you want them to be.

4. Live and let be instead of always trying to have a plan. And remember that quote, want to hear God laugh tell him your plan.

That's all the advice I can think that I would tell the past me.

***

So, that was a short list but that's some things I wish I knew when I was younger. What is advice you would tell your past self? Let me know in the comments below.

Today's post is another one that I'm really excited about (I'm excited about a lot of them) but this one is because its about the blogs I read and I love reading blogs! For this post I'm going to focus on mainly college bloggers because it goes along with something else that hopefully will start being feature on my blog!

*These Bloggers are in no particular order at all***

Paige at  The Sticky Note Addict
On Paiges' blog you can hear about her adventures with her dog Gatsby and boyfriend Bradley. Also her blogging birthday just past so Happy Birthday Sticky Note Addict!

Miss ALK at Southern Belle in Training
Miss ALK writes about her life at her southern college, which she moved to from the North East and her love for fashion! I do love her sense of fashion.

Samantha at Life but a stream of thoughts
I love reading Samantha's blog because I'm living vicariously through her life as sorority girl. Plus it was a lot of fun to read her adventures while studying aboard Italy this past summer.

Lizzy at Lizzy's Luggage
I abosolutely love Lizzy! She is an absolute sweet heart and seems so confident with who she is. I also love that she's a vlogger because I'm trying to get into the vlogging world.

Blogtember: Stream of Conscious - Day 24

Hello All,

Today's topic is a Stream of Conscious. Shall we get started.

I really like this subject post. It gives readers an idea of how I think. Maybe someone don't want to know how I think I'm mean sometimes its scary how my mind works. You know when say something out of the blue and your like trust me it makes sense if you were in my mind. I got a meatball sub for lunch today but it taste really bad. I'm disappointed because I've really wanted a meatball sub today. I've been craving Italian food for the last two days but the dinning hall had tacos last night and my meatball sub tasted bad. I would go to the store and get stuff to make pasta for dinner but I have to work so I'll be eating a burger probably because that's what we make at work. Maybe I'll try the grilled cheese. I've never had it work but the way we make it looks good. Maybe I'll add a little bit of bacon to it. I don't really understand the obsession with bacon. Like yes its good but its not the best food ever. But I get that's subject to opinion because I think cupcakes are the best food ever but some people would probably be like no! Tacos are the best. I mean I do like tacos but it don't think its the best food ever. I went to high school with a kid who obsessed with the word taco. Why I don't know but it was kind of annoying. My mom says I use the word annoying to much but its always just the first word that comes to my mind. Its a reflex like when some people use "like" or "ummm" every other word. I do it sometimes but its normally when I'm trying to tell a story but I get distracted by other things going on. That happened to me last night when Mandi came over and I felt bad that we were talking but I would keep getting distracted. There are some days that I can focus really well but yesterday was not one of them. Then again I don't think this will be posted for a few days so technically Mandi wasn't over yesterday it was few days ago. Because when I think when this posted its going to be more like 3 days ago and yesterday night will probably be me being at work. I really like my job now. It took me a while to get the hang of it but I like it now. But I had a stress dream about it last night where I was learning something new but I just couldn't do it, everything was going wrong. I just had one of those moments where everything was going wrong. I just spent like 10 minutes walking around the student center trying to find a table near a plug so that I could eat my nasty meatball sub and plug in my computer. Then I dropped my juice and made a BIG mess and had to keep running to the bathroom so that I could get paper towels so that I could clean it up. I cleaned it up and then finally found somewhere to plug in my computer and ate my gross sandwich and didn't have anything to drink which is suckish because I have a sore throat. Hopefully I'm not getting sick because I'm so busy and I don't have time to get. I don't think anyone really has time to get sick. Okay well this is for my stream of conscious because I have to get another post done before i go to class in like 20 minutes!  Have a good day!

Blogtember: Your Favorite Quote - Day 23

Hello All,

Today's topic is what is your favorite quote. I'm going to talk about 2 quotes, both of which I want to get tattoo on me at some point.

The first one is the first tattoo I want to get after I land my dream job.

Source
I love this quote so much. When I'm having a bad day and don't feel like I can do what I want anymore I think about it and pushes me through. It also inspired the big decision that I am trying to make this year! (You can read about it here)

Even on the little things. Every year there is an orientation for incoming freshmen and they have leaders who are current students and this year I want to apply to do it. Since I'm dreaming of it I'm going do everything I possibly can to get it and I repeat that mantra to myself on days that I don't want to do stuff.

My other favorite quote is also Walt Disney.

Source
I love this quote because its a reminder that something so expansive as Disney started with something so simple as a mouse driving a boat. I hope that is something that I can start with something so simple and make it a huge impact on someone's life.

What are some of your favorite quotes? Let me know in the comments below.

Blogtember: Why I Started Blogging - Day 22

Hello All,

Today's topic asked me why I started blogging. I think this is one of the most asked questions I get when I tell people I blog. Right along with what do you blog about. And just a general, why?

Blogging is something I have always been interested in but I didn't know how to go about setting up a blog. I didn't know what sites to use and how to design or what to write about in general.

But then last April I was super busy with programs in my Future Teacher's club and I had one of those, "Now I have something to blog about moments!"

Source
When I original started blogging I thought I was only going to blog about events like moving out or club events. But soon I realized that I have opinions and I am passionate about things and I wanted to share that with the world, or at least the blogging world.

Soon, I started to discover other blogs and learning what they wrote about and learned how important creating a fun set up was and writing an About Me Page. I'll be honest with you I have spent hours research on how to create a successful blogger.

Now blog is a part of me. I use to keep it a secret but now when some asked me a fun fact about me I say very proudly, "I am a blogger." Which is followed almost instantly by, "Oh you mean one Tumblr." And then I say no I have an actual website.

I think if someone told me that I had to stop blogging I would be lost. I would miss writing to whoever so much and I would miss my creative outlet.

That's why I started blogging. If you're a blogger why did you start blogging? Let me know in the comments below.

Blogtember: What Do You Believe In? - Day 21

Hello All,

Today's blogtember topic is What do you believe in?

I was really excited about this topic because there is one thing that I believe in that has an amazing story.

During the summer of 2012 I got a phone call from my aunt and uncle who had been trying to adopt for about 2-3 years I believe. Well that night I got a call that they had been chosen by a birth parent. They said that the baby was going to be born on August 15, 2012.

On July 1, 2012 my cousin who had a defibrillator, was rushed to the hospital because she had been socked too many times. A little while later we found that she would eventually need a heart transplant. With all luck she would have a transplant by that Labor Day.

She was put on the transplant list on August 1, 2012 and we spent days praying for a heart and healthy baby for my Aunt and uncle.

On August 8, 2012 I got a text message from my aunt that the baby was born! His name is Joshua and he's absolutely adorable. Luckily he was healthy and the adoption went through without a hitch.

On August 15, 2012 (remember that date?) I got a phone call from Mama J that my cousin was getting her transplant!

Because of those two events I full heartily believe in miracle. Both those events are miracle.s and I am ever so grateful for both of my cousins being in my life.

What do you believe in? Let me know in the comments below.

Blogtember: Something Old and Important - Day 20

Hello All,

Today's topic is to take a picture of something old and explain why its important. Here's my favorite thing and something old...

This bear I have since I was born and he comes with a cute story has well.

When Mama J found out that she was pregnant she went out to the story and bought this teddy bear. Then she gave to my father with a note asking him to take care of the bear until the baby who he really belonged to was born.

This bear is my favorite thing my childhood. When I'm sad I still cuddle with it and I brought him to college with me. If you look closely you'll notice that the eye on the left is missing. Also if you were to pick it up you would see that one of the ear is rubbed raw because when I'm upset I rub the ear between my fingers.

So, that is my something old. What is something old and important to you? Let me know in the comments below.

Blogtember: A Letter to a Friend - Day 19

Hello All,

Today's blogtember post is a write a letter to someone without using their names. At first I was stumped by who to write to but then I came up with a perfect idea. Like many friends in my real life she doesn't read my blog, actually I don't think she even knows it existed but I want to write her, things I don't know how to say in person.

***
Dear Friend,

You are my oldest friend in the whole world! You have seen my through the good, the bad and the ugly without even knowing it. Just knowing that you were a phone call, a text message or email away made me feel better. Even though I rarely reached out.  I want you to know that if you EVER need me that I would answer the phone to call.

You know that expression about how best friends are just your sisters you get to chose or something along those lines? Well in every since of the word except the biological part you are my sister. I have connection and history with you that could never be matched by anyone. And not only because we met when we were 3 years old.

Since we grew up in different towns I know that our friendships can make it through any type of distance because we never saw each other everyday. In the future you may be following your dreams in Washington D.C. and me where ever in the world my live takes me.

Since I was old enough to know what a Maid of Honor is I have said that you would be mine and I still mean it. There is no else that I could imagine standing next to me when I say "I do" to the man of my dreams.

Since we grew up in different towns we had different friend's group growing up. Since then you met your other best friend, she's nice and I like her. But there are times that I'm jealous of her because in many ways she's your best friend. She is the person you go to for advice. She knows more about your life then I do and for that I'm jealous.

But even through that I know that we'll be friends for years and years to come and I can't wait to see where our lives take us. Just remember to Stay Beautiful.

I love you!

Love,
Em.

***

I know that she'll probably never read this and in many ways I really am okay with that because there are things in this letter that I don't know if I could say to her face.

What is something you've always wanted to tell someone? Let me know in the comments below.

Blogtember: A Time You Screwed Up - Day 18

Hello All,

Today's Blogtember topic is one I'm a little apprehensive to share, because it is something that I am a little bit ashamed of but I'm going to share because I learned just a powerful lesson from it. With that being said I will share the story with you.

One of my biggest pet peeves in the world is door slamming and the door in my dorm are really loud because their fire proof ones.

When I first moved to college everyone was tweeting about everyone. They were tweeting about their neighbors, the kids in their classes, their teacher, some random guy they passed. And I unfortunately I went the crowd and tweeted about how annoying my neighbor was.

I came home from the weekend and the girl came to my door and confronted me about it. For the first time I saw that my tweet had effected another human being. She looked so hurt and and I felt ashamed right away. As soon as we finished our conversation I went on my phone and deleted the tweet.

I have never been so ashamed as I was in that moment. Since then I think before I tweet. I think about what I am saying. What I'm trying to say. And what other people might read into. I also try to remember that future employers or even my current one may check my feed and I need to keep it responsible.

I can't tell you how often I will write tweet, re-read and then discard it because I don't like what it says about me.

Since starting my blog I take this lesson even more seriously. The way I look at it is, is what I'm writing something I would want my parents to read (they don't know about this lovely blog, maybe someday if I study aboard or if I keep writing when I have children), is this something I would want my future children to read or even my future husband. Is this something that I would be ashamed of one day in future?

I try to remember all these things every time I log on twitter. I still feel guilty to this day for hurting that girl's feelings instead of talking to her about it like a grown adult. But I'm grateful for this mistake because of what great lesson I learned from it.

What is a mistake that you've made that you've learned a big lesson from? Let me know in the comments below.

On a side not and completely unrelated, while you are reading this me and my roommate are at the Big-E and seeing Hunter Hayes so be on the look out for that post coming soon!

When "I Want Crazy" comes on the radio! (I actually was walking around campus singing this last night)

Blogtember: A Review - Day 16

Hello All,

Today's blogtember is perfect because it kills 2 birds with 1 stone! The topic for today is to review something and I'm going to review two shows that came to my campus. Both of these reviews were posts I was planning on doing these post anyways so why not do it during Blogtember.

The first show that came to campus was a comdian who is featured on Chelsea Lately named Thomas Dale.

Source
He was absolutely hilarious. The whole audience was laughing through is whole set and I was beyond disappoint when his set ended.

My favorite part of the show was that it was so interactive. One of the his bits he did was talk to the Frat that was in the audience, Beta Mu Sigmas (in my opinion: the best looking frat on campus). He would joke around with them and flirt with them (he was very openly gay) and the guys luckily played alone making it very enjoyable.

At the end of the show he gave us his twitter. So, I decide to tweet at him.

And he tweeted back at me I was so excited about it! I love when people tweet you back, its just a good feeling!

In all honesty if you see Thomas dale coming to a club, a college or anywhere near you run and grab your tickets. Run don't walk to those tickets because he is beyond worth it!

The other show I went to this week was the Hungry Hunger Games, a parody of the Hunger Games. I believe they are touring colleges.

Basically they took the story line of The Hunger Games and made fun of it. I was a little apprehensive about it because I haven't seen the movies or read the books.

Source
I know, its shocking but I never got into the series. I just wanted to get out on Friday night.

And It ended up being totally worth because it was hilarious. There were things that went of my head probably because they were part of the series. But their were parts that referenced pop culture and those were funny. They also had funny things that everyone could relate to.

I think if I had to recommend it I would probably say it would be more enjoyable for someone who has seen the movies or the read the books.

Have you seen either of these performances? If you did what did you think of them? Let me know in the comments below.
