I can't remember if I mentioned in the past but I babysit somewhat regularly for my mom's best friend's children. I absolutely LOVE her children, they are absolutely amazing!
I'm especially close to her daughter, I always tried to find the right word for our relationship but I can never figure one out. She is a sweet little girl name Sophie, she's 4 years old and super mature. I think that Sophie is a sassier version of myself.
I babysat her tonight. We played games (she LOVES hide and seek), told jokes, she doesn't quite understand the concept of jokes yet but she will one day and it adorable now, and we took pictures on my phone. One of her favorite pictures to take is funny faces, although she eventually stole my phone and took pictures all over her house.
I wanted to share a few of my favorites!
The Fishie face (Sophie's favorite)
I don't know what I'm doing in this picture but she's adorable
And of course my favorite face, the Merp face
It was so much fun to spent time with Sophie and her brother, Cole, who is at the age where he'd rather play his video game or alone in his room then with us so I just let him do that. When I'm at school I don't get to see them much but hopefully I will see them again soon.
I absolutely LOVE these kids and love babysitting!
Its less then 2 weeks until the premiere of Big Brother 15! I'm so excited for it to come back because I absolutely love the show. With only 2 weeks left its time for another review of past season, and this week I'm going to tell you who I think are the worst players in Big Brother History!
Shelly
Shelly was a house guest in Big Brother 13. She started the season off as floater, but her big move cost her the game. She started the season off working with Jeff and Jordan, but spent the whole time spreading lies behind their back. When confronted she denied, and she denied it for so long it kind of makes me wonder if she really thought that she didn't say some of things she said. Her biggest biggest was turning her back on Jeff , Jordan and their alliance.
Keith:
Keith was also a player in Big Brother 13 and his mistake that ruined his game happened the first night. Big Brother was the season they played in pairs. How did Keith chose his partner? By what she looked like. When he created a plan to get his partner evicted the house turned against him and evicted him instead. It was an even dumber move to try and evicted his partner instead of working together because his partner ended up being the runner up in his season.
Brian
Brian was a house guest on Season 10. His big mistake? Playing to hard WAY too fast. He thought that he had the whole house on his side but instead the house blindsided him and got him evicted the first week. He probably would have been a good player if he had waited a little while longer to start playing hard and dirty.
Howie
Howie was a house guest on Big Brother 6 and All-Stars. Personality wise Howie is one of my favorite house guest, I found pretty funny. But game wise he was the dumbest player ever to play Big Brother. I'm pretty sure he had no what he was doing the whole time he was on Big Brother. I'm pretty sure during both his seasons the only reason he stayed in house was because he aligned himself with the right people andfunny the house guest realized they had bigger fish to fry. Although his stalking of Dr. Will was probably his down fall in the All-stars season.
James:
James, also from Big Brother 6 and All-Stars made the same mistake...twice. In season 6 James made an alliance with Janelle, Kaysar and Howie and then turned his back on them and they evicted him. Then again he made the same alliance and they all promised to work together again but James turned his back on them once again and eventually got evicted again.
Matt:
Matt was mentioned in my last Big Brother post because he was a member of the brigade but the brigade is the reason that he is on my worst players list. He was suppose to be the brains of his alliance yet some how his alliance was able to get him evicted. Sorry Matt you weren't the brains.
The last two are two that make me so mad ALL the time I think about them. As any one who has looked at my bucket list you know one of my life goals is to be a house guest on Big Brother and these two got themselves expelled from the game and that is why they in my mind are the WORST big brother players ever.
Chima
Willie:
So, in my mind those are the worst players in Big Brother history. If there are any other HUGE big brother fans out there let me know who you think are the worst players and why?
Next week I will tell who I think are the best players in Big Brother history! Stay tuned!
So, its that time of week again, its time for what I love Wednesday. Today's topic is writing!
Of course I love writing. If I didn't like writing I wouldn't be here writing a blog to you guys. But I like many different types of writing. I guess I'll describe a few of them for you and why I love them.
First let's talk about journaling, in about September my friend Tori and I decide that we wanted to find a system to remember everything that happens while I'm at college and she's at home. So, we started writing journals. While I'm at school I write to her about once a week because a lot of the stuff that I would tell her about . When I'm home and not doing as much and seeing her more often only write after exciting events. I love journaling for two reason; 1: Its therapeutic, it feels nice to write about everything that has happened and know that by time someone reads it, the ting I was writing about will be long over so when I talk to Tori about I will be more clearheaded. The other reason I love it is because one day if I have a daughter I can give her the journals and she can know what I was like when I was her age.
Book writing, when I was a junior in high school I was upset over a boy I had a crush on (he turned out not to be worth it). But when I was upset I start writing a story. Since writing it became a full length story. I send it to a friend to read so that I could try editing and maybe eventually get it published.
Script Writing, the next form of writing is a new type that I just started, inspired by my friend Cayla. I started writing a script based a dream I had. I love writing this because its shorter, and I can focus on my dialogue, something that isn't my strong point.
I love writing because to me its therapeutic, I pick the type of writing that will make me feel better for the day. And some days I don't write at all.
Of course one of my favorite types of writing is writing to you guys. I am so thankful for all those people out their who read my crazy ramblings.
XOXO,
Em.
P.S. I created a get connected page her on my blog, if you check it out you will be able to follow me on twitter, instagram and Pinterest. Also I created a Vlog channel on youtube that will go along with blog. You can check out my first video and subscribe.
I've been hearing a lot about how Google reader is shutting down. I've done research but I still have a question about it. When Google reader ends will I no longer be able to use my blogger account to write my blog? Or does it only mean that I won't be able to read blogs on it. If you know the answer will you please let me know ASAP.
I lucked out so much considering that my roommate is one of my best friends at college and I would not trade having her as my roommate for anyone else.
I figured I should start by giving you some background on our relationship. Hannah and I met each other via Facebook and became roommates. Right after we were assigned to be roommates we talked to each other via Facebook about interests, hobbies, favorites, etc... Over the summer between senior year and freshmen year I went and spend the summer with Grandma, I had my phone, which was a droid 2 so I had 3G but my Grandma didn't have WiFi and Hannah and I had only really communicated VIA Facebook so we didn't really talk over the summer. Although I wasn't so worried because I went into college/roommate situation with idea that I wanted a roommate who I could co-exist with and not have to be friends with them.
When Hannah and I first moved in we were friends although we weren't in the same group of friends. But because of some series of unfortunate events (not the child's book) Hannah and I became closer and then became friends with our really good friends Mandi and Heidi. It got to the point where I couldn't do homework in our room because I couldn't focus because I felt the need to talk to her and when we would come back school after being home we would talk as if we had been separated for months.
I am so grateful that Hannah is my roommate, we've talked about before and decide/realized that we want to stay roommates throughout college. And I truly believe that we will be friends for a long, long time to come.
Hannah (right) and I on move out day, we were sad to leave
Because I have such a good relationship with my roommate, no its not perfect but its healthy and were both happy with our situation I figured I'd give you some tips that worked for us!
Set Boundaries: When we first moved in we talked about things that we would be uncomfortable about. For example, I'm not a morning person, so don't talk to me first thing in the morning)
Respect Each Other and Their Spaces: Hannah is very neat and needs her stuff to be put away before she can focus on work. I on the other hand function in organized ciaos. Which some people we would think is a recipe for disaster. But we talked about it and she told me, she doesn't care about what my side of the room looks like as long as it doesn't encourage on her side. Another thing when it comes to respect is I constantly need noise, I'm always watching something on my computer or listening to music so I always use headphones.
Have Some Bonding Time: Even if you don't want to be best friends with you roommate you need to remember you have to live with this person so you should try and get to know one of another. Hannah and I are the queen of bonding. We've gone to events on campus, we've gone shopping, we've watched movies, etc... But are main bonding time is more of weekly thing. We both love watching MTV's Awkward and Girl Code and ABC Family's Switched at Birth. Whenever those shows are we watch them together. Another one of my favorite is we'll make dinner and eat in our room every once in while.
Don't Go Into the Roommate Situation With Judgement: Don't think you already know them based off Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc... Also don't think that you and your roommate are either going to be Best Friend or not friends. Go with the flow, if you and your roommate realize you guys co-exist well and want nothing more then don't push it.
Communication: If something is bother you tell them! If you don't like that they listen to their music loudly tell them. If you don't want them having their significant other in your room so often, tell them but be willing to compromise. But with communication comes debate and be ready for them to tell you things you won't like. The may tell you that they don't like that you blow dry your hair in the morning while their still sleeping. So be willing for feedback from your roommate and be ready to compromise with your roommate.
Trust: Every relationship, whether its parent/child, siblings, friends, romantic, etc... need to have trust. But you especially need trust when it comes to living together. You won't always be in your room when your roommate is, so you need to trust that your roommate will respect your stuff and make sure that anyone who they bring in will respect your stuff. Also you need to trust that your roommate won't share the embarrassing stuff that you do in privacy of your own room (i.e. sleep talk, snore, etc...).
These are what worked for me and I hope that they help people who are either moving into a new roommate situation or about ready to have a roommate for the first time.
Another idea that I've read about is a roommate contract. Here's a website that shows you how to step up your own roommate contract.
I wish everyone who is starting college and moving in with a roommate luck and I hope you end up with a good one.
XOXO,
Em.
P.S. If you've lived a roommate and have advice let me know, you never know when that will come in handy. Also if you have questions/advice feel free to ask, I'm willing to help!
In the next couple of days I will be sharing a page with all my social network user names and such. I would love for all my followers to check it out and consider following me on the different sites.
I hope everyone had a good weekend, and I'll be posting a real post and the new page in the next couple of days.
As I mentioned in my What I Love Wednesday this week, I love Big Brother. I've been counting down the days until the new extended season premiere. (1 week and 4 days but whose counting).
I think I've watched this promo/commercial 100 times...did I mention I LOVE Big Brother?
I mentioned in my past post I was going to a weekly recap of the season. But with the weeks leading up to the season and since I've never written about them before you guys I figured I count down who I think are the best and worst in a few different categories, starting with the best Dynamic Duos and Alliances.
We'll start with Alliances because there is only one alliance, (That had more then 2 players part of it) that I can think of who was successful and that is the Brigade from season 12.
From LtoR: Hayden Moss (The Animal), Matt Hoffman (The Brains, because he was the brains behind the operation but still managed to get blindsided), Enzo Palumbo (The Meow meow) and Lane Elenburg (the Beast)
Sorry, that's the best picture I could get of them. The reason that I consider them the best alliance is because 3 out of the 4 made it to the final three, basically they won. I also consider them one of the best because when the three who made to the finals realized that Matt was holding them back they found a away to blindside him and get him evicted. The final reason is because they managed to play almost EVERYONE into believing that they were only friends and not working together. A final reason was...oh yeah did I mention, this alliance was formed Day 1 and made through all the drama and tension that the Big Brother house has? In my opinion that's like starting and ending high school with the same Best Friend.
Next are the duos starting with Adam and Shelia from Big Brother 9.
From Left to Right: Sheila Kenedey and Adam Jasinski
Adam and Shelia are from possibly the worst season in Big Brother history, the Till Death Do Us Part season. In this Season the producer of Big Brother decided to play match maker and make them play as partners. When they first started Shelia was mad that she and Adam were partnered up because she wanted one of the bad boys or sexy boys. In the end they made it to the final three. By hating each other they ended up really protecting each other.
Next were Eric and Jessica from Season 8
Left to Right: Eric Stein and Jessica Hughbanks when they did a guess appearance on season 9
The odd couple with nerdy and beauty. Eric played as America's Player, where America voted on what they wanted to see Eric do. Although America wanted to see them together even as Eric was playing as America's player him and Jessica played together and made pretty far even as their alliance was being destroy by Evil Dick.
Speaking of Evil Dick, let's talk about him and daughter Danielle from season 9 and 13.
Left to Right: Danielle and Dick Donato
This picture doesn't describe these two relationship at all, the two hadn't spoken in years before being put in the Big Brother's house together. Yet the two decide to team up together and keep each other safe during their 3 month stay in the Big Brother House. Evil Dick was even willing to sacrifice his own game to see his daughter success. In their orignal season Dick won with Danielle coming in second. When the two returned season 13 Dick left for unexplained reasons and Danielle didn't have voice of reason stopping her from completely ruining her game.
My top three favorite duos are first Jeff and Jordan season 11 and 13
Left to Right: Jeff Schroeder and Jordan Llyod
American sweethearts hit off almost instantly when they met in season 11. Some say Jeff pushed Jordan through game but I think people need to remember that Big Brother is just as much physical and mental game as a social game. The two schemed together both times they were on the show and managed to get big players out of game.
Next is Dan and Memphis season 10
One of my favorite stories in Big Brother is when two players go to hating each other and then working together to become the winners of the show. Although Memphis wasn't the smartest guy in the world because Dan screwed him over multiple times throughout their run together. They worked together and became first and second place winner on BB10
And the best Duo is Big Brother History...Chilltown with Boogie and Dr. Will
From the first time I watch these together I loved them. They worked together to become two of the biggest legends ever to play Big Brother. They were funny, rude and down right outrageous all the makings of a good Big Brother players. And since they are winners of all time best duos/alliances in my book I figured I would share one of my favorite youtube videos of the "diary room" phone calls.
So those are all my favorite Big Brother Duos and Alliances. Are their any Big Brother fans out there? If so who are you favorite duos and Alliances? Anyone you think shouldn't be on the list?
